I have one and yes it is impossible to clean the top. And why does the top have slots. I made the mistake while making a mole. I put the mexican chocolate in but did not chop them up enough (after all is that not what the processor for) The chocolate bounced up and pushed up the seal so all the mole escaped thru the slots. Took me an hour to clean up the mess. Buying a Vitamix!

Functional design is NOT Cuisinarts strong suit. Food gets stuck in the lid gasket and can not be removed AND finger holes let small food drop through the disk. I also bought the coffee machine that grinds beans - the chute that delivered the ground coffee to the basket was square with corners that trapped the ground coffee, building up and blocking the chute - and of course, no access to clean this out either. Seems like the designers don't actually use their own products.

There is food under my grey gasket on the lid. How do I take the gasket out so I can clean it?

Laura Alice Sparks the gasket can be removed and washed it’s in the owner manual...let it dry and put back in lid!

Just read the manual and seal can't be removed. Loads of food residue get stuck under the seal. Impossible to clean :(

I'd like to know this, too! The manual says the seal can be removed to clean it but it doesn't say HOW to remove it.

I have the 11 cup Elite. This week, when I was working with my garden produce, all of sudden I found it simply would not work well. It seemed at first that the only way I could get the unit to start was to push down very hard while I turned it on, with the extra pressure it would start. But it got worse to the point that it will not 'connect' and start even though it is locked in place. It would seem that the lid lock and pusher assemble is not connecting enough for the machine to start. I can hear the 'start' button turn on - I do not think it is an issue with the motor. But rather the container and inner lock mechanism. Do I need another bowl? Perhaps something is broken or worn out. I am in SK, Canada and need assistance.

How do you keep the food from falling through the finger holes... you can't do nuts..radishes...or anything small

I can't separate the medium bowl from the large bowl no matter what I do. I've tried cooling, heating, oil, strong hands. Nothing works!

The Cuisinart Elite Collection™ 14-Cup Food Processor $350.00 I took it back in 30 days and got my money back because it has finger holes in the blade where food drops through (carrots, nuts etc) I put duck tape over to use it to cover the blades. A huge design flaw and the gap between the bowl and blade. I have done a lot of research on my next processor and with all the review.

Great detailed video. I bought the 12 cup processor. I would have loved to have a case. Much less dangerous. Was it supposed to come with my processor?

I just bought the 12 cup myself and it doesn't come with the case. I saw it was available for purchase for an additional $50 CDN on Amazon. Hope you're still enjoying your new processor, I've loved it so far!

Calling 800 # now over 10 min. wait. Got this processor for Christmas. Used it once. Now I'm trying to use it again and it will not lock into place. Everything looks fine but it will not slip into place and lock into the base.
