So many changes for the good! The Rock from Rocky and Stone Cold from The Ringmaster are notable exclusions but also super obvious

Collin Marcum I guess it also depends on when you consider the attitude era started too, you could make the argument with the rock but not really for Austin’s transition since he changed roughly around mania 12 time of course, i personally believed the attitude era started at KOTR 96 with the Austin 3:16 speech

@@CRob172 yeah, definitely. I'm of the mindset that it started with the Bret Hart Steve Austin match at Wrestlemania and he was definitely picking up the steam at that point with that character

If you ask me, the Nation of Domination gimmick is very underrated. It literally put all of the members over after it was done. Rocky Maivia turned into The Rock, Faarooq turned into the Acolytes (later into APA), Mark Henry into the world’s strongest man, etc. It was a good transition gimmick

Give or take some opinions about gimmick and time period, the nation put every character over. DX should have done this as well. But everyone career didn’t thrive without dx but the group was so good together guess it didn’t matter.

@@ricky-sanchez oh shit. Don't remind me. As horrified as everyone was at the 2000 Royal Rumble when Mae Young exposed herself. It was even worse when GTV recorded her in bed with Mark Henry and every now and then she'd come back with her disgusting perverted granny antics. I'm sure you and alot of people can agree with me that we stopped having nightmares about it when she finally croaked.

Too Cool got some serious pops back in the day. Scotty, Grandmaster, and Rikishi were so popular with the fans. If the writers had a clue, they would've had the three hold the Intercontinental (Rikishi) and Tag Team (Scotty/Grandmaster) titles at the same time. But they opted to push Rikishi into a heel turn that ultimately went no where and felt wasted.

Later on in the night, he betrayed his long-time friend and fellow D-X member X-Pac by helping Shane McMahon retain the European Championship and joined The Corporation. Turning heel in the process. In April, he started to move away from his D-X look, taping his fists for matches, sporting new and shorter wrestling trunks and adopting a shorter hairstyle. His gimmick changed as he fought to earn a WWF Championship opportunity" this happened months prior to meeting Stephanie McMahon. You and everyone else need to do your research.

I must be the only person in the world who loves the The Godfather's old, Papa Shango gimmick, and I can't tell you how much I absolutely HATED the "American Badass" Undertaker. Then again, I'm one of those, seeming extremely rare, wrestling fans who loves wrestling the most, when it's the absolute most like a comic book. The comic book limits can never go too far for me. The day that I saw Kane shoot lightning from the sky at the commentary table, and then shoot lightning from the sky at a camera man, causing him to burst into flame, is one of my favorite moments in wrestling history. I also LOVED when Papa Shango was feuding with the Ultimate Warrior, and Warrior was doing some interview, they cut to Papa Shango doing some goofy ritual, and then they cut back to Ultimate Warrior, and all this black, syrup, goop started running down his face while he freaked out in typical Warrior way. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! I loved it! The goofier the characters, the more I loved things. I tend to get bored when wrestler characters are just.... themselves and their real names, unless they find some way to be over-the-top entertaining. Brey Wyatt is my current favorite at the moment. :)

A lot of people consider that gimmick change to be right before the Attitude Era started, plus I believe he was working that gimmick in ECW before even coming to WWE.

I loved the American Badass it was the closest WWF ever let him get to being Mean Mark Callus they should have let Kane take on the fake Diesel gimmick again (still as Kane) to match up with Taker

I think the Undertaker becoming darker and more evil was a great idea for the character in the attitude era! In some cases it was actually scary to watch. If the undertaker didn’t become the American badass, I wonder what taker would evolve into.

Funny how many lower tier guys from 95 were mad over in 99/00. Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Bob Spark Plug Holly, one half of the Smokin' Gunns, Make a Difference Fatu, The Roadie, 1-2-3 Kid, Isaac Yankem D.D.S, Kama the Supreme Fighting Machine, ect..

When did the WWE start using solid red for the ring ropes instead of the red white & blue they used to employ? I know it was in 1997, but I think the Attitude Era really kicked off when that change was made.

And there was The Ringmaster better known as Stonecold Steve Austin. Or Rocky Mavia who became The Rock. And the list goes on and on.

This video is about the attitude era. Read the title. The Ring master turned into stone cold way before the attitude era, in the new generation era. And the rock was the rock before the attitude era. The only transformation not listed here about the rock that alot of people don't remember is the corporate champ becoming the people's champ. It turned the rock into a permanent baby face.

Wait so Kane is not on this list ? Kane attitude era is one of the most iconic not only in WWE/WWF but in the entire wrestling history. His attire, his mask, his entrance, his strength, his pyros.... just legendary. One of the best gimmick in wrestling history no doubt.
