I must be the only person in the world who loves the The Godfather's old, Papa Shango gimmick, and I can't tell you how much I absolutely HATED the "American Badass" Undertaker. Then again, I'm one of those, seeming extremely rare, wrestling fans who loves wrestling the most, when it's the absolute most like a comic book. The comic book limits can never go too far for me. The day that I saw Kane shoot lightning from the sky at the commentary table, and then shoot lightning from the sky at a camera man, causing him to burst into flame, is one of my favorite moments in wrestling history. I also LOVED when Papa Shango was feuding with the Ultimate Warrior, and Warrior was doing some interview, they cut to Papa Shango doing some goofy ritual, and then they cut back to Ultimate Warrior, and all this black, syrup, goop started running down his face while he freaked out in typical Warrior way. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! I loved it! The goofier the characters, the more I loved things. I tend to get bored when wrestler characters are just.... themselves and their real names, unless they find some way to be over-the-top entertaining. Brey Wyatt is my current favorite at the moment. :)
