I get people thinking CM Punk's AEW debut was incredibly obvious, but for me personally, I'd seen so many "CM Punk returns to wrestling!" rumours by that point that I'd been conditioned to very much take a "I'll believe it when it actually happens, and not a moment before" stance on it.

I don't think the Batista turn on Evolution was meant to be a surprise, mainly due to the way the story played out, especially Batista overhearing Triple H and Flair discussing how they had framed JBL and Dave was too stupid to work it out.

In fairness, that was just on the segment before the big contract angle. But he figured they were trying to play him anyway and he was gonna challenge him anyway, but knowing they went to that level put him at ease with his potential betrayal. Dave did some seriously good acting in that storyline, played a huge part in the great actor he eventually became.

I remember the Edge to AEW rumours going around and I didn’t think much of them, Darby and Christian main eventing was weird but Cassidy and Mox just did at All Out so I assumed it was just result of no world title match again. I mean yea Edge going to AEW was spoiled for me on KZbin and I know people say his WWE return in 2020 was spoiled by a video with Sheamus on a biking trip where Edge fell off of his bike but was fine but let's be honest no one actually thought Edge would be going in the Rumble at the 2020th Edition also I never knew Edge had a bike accident until way later. Also we never hot Edge and Christian's one more run in WWE 😢
