I still have a soft spot for No Way Out 2009. Two fantastic Chamber matches punctuated by one of Edge's best heel moves (and him producing the greatest reaction gif in pro wrestling history in the process) plus Orton/Shane in a No Holds Barred match was great and HBK/JBL was pretty good too. Swagger vs. Finlay for the ECW title... happened. That's all I'll say.
@lilsunny7399
@lilsunny7399 Жыл бұрын
Was about to comment this. It had a mixed middle show but the opener and main event more than made up for it. and honestly Amateur Wrestler Jack Swagger vs Veteran Fit Finlay isn't the worst match the dying ECW brand could have put on there.

Unforgiven 2006 was a great show, and was a good case study of WWE stacking a show with a Hell in a Cell match, a TLC match and a retirement match all in the same night that made sense, without the stipulations feeling shoe-horned in to a certain month every year. And other than ECW Champion Big Show, it was a brand-exclusive show, proving the concept could work if they put the effort in and they didn't need every show to feature people from Raw AND Smackdown.

Thank you for putting Backlash 2000 at number 1, it really is. I remember in 2000 I was on holiday and wasn't watching any tv and by the time I got back home it was the go-home Raw and SD for Fully Loaded 2000, and I was transfixed, it felt like I had been a lapsed wrestling fan and just tuned in again and everything was so chaotic and different, when it had only been 3 weeks. I was extremely excited for it and during it I was thrilled too. The main event angle was my favourite but the other main events, Rikishi jumping off the cage and Trish and Lita being especially brutal to each other in that 6 person tag were high on my list. And Perry Saturn was in my boy stable too so was happy to see him capture gold, and hear his awesome new theme tune.

Evolution was such a good ppv. My only nitpicks were that I think Becky vs Charlotte should have gone on last and the Bayszler needed help to beat Kairi despite being presented as a dominant heel prior, which is why I think her first run with the title was better even though it wasn't that long. I was a little sad Toni vs Io wasn't given that big of a slate of time, but they made full use of the time they had and I think Toni deserved the win even though I was cheering for Io. Also it was nice to see Lita, Mickie, and Trish compete as well considering they were basically the three biggest women stars of their time

Here are some events that have soft spots to me: 1. Vengeance 2002 (The Rock/Angle/Taker triple threat for the WWE Title was a superb closing to a pretty good card) 2. No Way Out 2004 (Eddie Guererro winning the WWE Title is still one of the most wholesome scenes in WWE history) 3. Armageddon 2008 (An incredible sendoff to this PPV series with Jeff Hardy finally seizing the WWE Title) 4. Bragging Rights 2009 (That 60 Minute Ironman Match between Cena and Orton is the perfect end to a good event like this) 5. TLC 2009 (Sheamus emerged as a legitimate threat to the WWE when he bested John Cena) 6. NXT Takeover: R Evolution 2014 (Yes, I'm including NXT in these, shut up. Anyways, Sami Zayn finally winning the big one and Kevin Owens' arrival and shocking betrayal make this one for me) 7. Elimination Chamber 2019 (Pretty much the birth of Kofimania, leading to his well-deserved run as WWE Champion) 8. NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 (All 6 matches were great in their own regard, but it's Io Shirai finally capturing the NXT Women's Title that makes me happy)

One of my favorites is Breakdown 1998. You had Edge vs Owen to jerk the curtain and it was solid. You had a really good match between D-Lo and Gangrel of all people for the Euro title. You had an amazing triple threat cage match between Rock, Shamrock, and Mankind, where Mankind gave the wonderful "sugar coated testes" promo. There was a great match (albeit with a stupid storyline) between Val Venis and Dustin Runnels. And the main event had Austin vs Kane vs Taker with one of the most unusual cliffhanging enders I can remember.

Awesome, I was there at No Mercy 2002. Went with my brother and it was my first ever ppv live event after almost 15 years of being a fan. Anytime WWE, and now AEW, is in Arkansas, at Simmons Bank Arena, they call it Little Rock (the capital) but its actually North Little Rock. There's a river that divides the two cities but Little Rock sounds better. Anyways funny story about getting tickets to that show....I remember this smelly lady with a tank top who was behind us in line all night, and we overheard her saying she was there to see Kevin Nash at an in-arena meet and greet and that she took a greyhound bus overnight from Tulsa, Oklahoma to get there. After we got out tickets, we were driving off and saw the same lady walking to our nearby greyhound bus stop. I think she actually took a greyhound over night, saw Big Sexy, and left via greyhound to go back to Tulsa. She wanted Big D for sure. Oh and if you stop the video at 4:02 and look to the far left, about 5 rows up, you'll see a guy in a white shirt, Im the guy one row up with a grey hoodie.

Both ECW One Night Stand PPVs were absolutely fantastic, but I prefer the 2005 version. Mike Awesome vs Masato Tanaka was INCREDIBLE.

Ummm.....No Way Out 2004? The night Eddie beat Brock for the WWE Championship? I hope this was at least a finalist. I was in the crowd that night with ringside seats.

I would have thought Backlash 04 would have made the list, Cactus Jack vs Randy Orton and the Wrestlemania XX main event rematch anyone?

You forgot Judgment Day 2000. The debut of the "American Badass" Undertaker and the classic 60-Minute Iron Man match between Triple H and The Rock were just a couple of the highlights of this B-show.

Backlash 2000 will also hold a special place in my heart. Should have been the Wrestlemania card that year

Not a bad list. I'd probably have Judgment Day 2000 and Vengeance 2003 instead of Backlash 2001 and Evolution.

I will never care about people wanting Brock to win over Cena. I’m happy that Cena won it makes it a better watch for me because I didn’t think he was going to win
