I think that if Julian read this comment, he would be really proud. Cause I think that is exactly his aim. But in a recent interview, he said his aesthetics were from the year 2080.. but that was pretty on point!

Dear Julian, Jeramy, Amir, Jacob, Alex and Jeff... The Voidz, Hard to describe the feelings, emotions that your songs can create, maybe in single words like: euphoric, happy saddness, frightening reality, hope, enthusiasm. These two songs are especially, shockingly good. No other music can do this you have something really unique and the lyrics always words of wisdom. Saw your live performance once already in Bilbao, I will never forget you and your music. In this time of the Earth you are one of the best things that exists.

Every time Julian creates whether on his own or with collaboration of others, I feel grateful that he's followed his calling of writing/music/art. Like the music/style/vibe/creativity of all Strokes and Voidz songs are works of art, Julian was made for what he is doing and that's so inspiring to me. Some artists aren't even good at their craft and you wonder why they do it. But he is a master at his craft. So grateful for the VOIDZ !! Love you guys

Patrick King So, I bought the vinyl and it came with the download code, I can confirm that the last part isn’t a snippet from other song but it’s actually “attached” to TET. So I guess Julian isn’t really “promoting “ strokes stuff in a Voidz video, but he just used the melody in this song and we will have to wait for the strokes album to drop to know how TAAT really sounds like.

Letra oficial de “Did my best” Let me tell you a story About the hazy good old days Changing the game Rules are for kids Wanted to play but now I’m on the sidelines Watching everyone having so much fun Never let them know you’re angrier than them Nobody cares About the days of old Take a quick picture then you run home Call up my friends No one picks up I guess I’m going out all alone again It’s time to grow up, but I don’t wanna calm down Everything happens for a reason somehow I know that’s not true, the meaning is just the same common purpose that I love but might not trust no more Oh mama how I miss those days Watch them stream away, I wave But they don’t wave back at me Guess they’re just afraid, that they might get seen Maybe afraid of what they wanna be Some old freak like me No It all makes sense, prisoners of earth Listen to the stories from before your birth Training for the game Kiss him in the rain Everything about it is so fucking insane It’s been a long time, Never lost touch, Here comes an old witch with a poison apple Bring it to me I’ll take a bite Every last piece until I lose the light I can only change what I can change I can only change what I can change Meet me at the bottom I can only change what I can change I can only change what I can change Meet me at the bottom, The lost years I never think about those days everyone’s talking about They were the best, I guess. T.E. T.E.T. cannot be whispered T.E. T.E.T The Tao can't be sung I long to know what is beyond me I try to change what I should not change Realistically optimistic I'm a philosopher, n-not a mystic No more playing now, I'm on a mission But I forgive a man if he doesn't listen I see Lucifer makes a good living A philosophy so limiting [Pre-Chorus 1] Everyone got decisions to make Oh, yeah, baby, got bills to pay The truth lies beyond what you see I'm not mad at you [Chorus] When I get my turn When I get my turn Staying on my toes Oh, they will see Forget everything you heard Forget everything you heard You don't know who's feeding it to you When I was sixteen When I was sixteen Nobody believed "Music's for you" When my turn it comes When my turn it comes I will tear the system apart [Bridge 1] If you wanna be great You gotta work late [?] T.E T.E.T. Cannot be said [Interlude] Now we build statues of robots Humanity is already a memory [Pre-Chorus 2] Nothing's black or white, it's all grey Honesty without tact is cruelty Nothing turns me on like what you say Bending towards pending demise [Chorus] When I get my turn When I get my turn Staying on my toes Oh, they will see Forget everything you heard Forget everything you heard You don't know who's feeding it to you When I was sixteen When I was sixteen Nobody believed "Music's for you" It's harder than I thought But when my time it comes Will I be prepared? I guess we'll see [Bridge 2] End of the daydream Nine zillion lane highway Was not part of the deal [Outro] When I get my way When I get my way (Nothing is ever) When I get my way (Deleted anymore) When I get my way When I get my way When I get my way (The mind wants to play) When I get my way (Free from the assembly line of thought) Change all my friends Only 'cause you asked me twice Change all my clothes That don't make a difference either I don't want anything Unless there's you Unless there's you I don't want anyone Unless it's you Unless it's you

THANK YOU VOIDZZZ I LOVE THIS SO MUCH 😭😭😭 idc waiting a bit longer for The Strokes if The Voidz keep making music like this. I can tell Jules is on a whole other level when he has liberty to do what he wants to do, the band chemistry just seems a lot better and the music shows it imo. ❤️✊😣

"Did my Best" al principio me recuerda mucho a Lou Reed, pero derivando en la psicodelia de the Voidz al final. No me puede gustar más!!! Es impresionante lo que Julian puede llegar a expresar con su voz sin autotune. Y brillantes las mezclas que consigue cuando lo usa... Todavía no he oído nada de ellos (ni de Casablancas en general) que no me guste!! Son especiales ❤️

Let me tell you a story About the hazy good old days A change in the game Rules are for kids Wanted to play But now your on the sideline Watching everyone Having so much fun Never let em know You’re angrier than them Nobody cares about the days of old Take a quick picture Then you run home Call up my friends No one picks up Guess I’m going out all alone again It’s time to grow up But I don’t wanna calm down Everything happens for a reason somehow But I know that’s not true The meaning is just The same common purpose That I love but may not trust No more Oh mama, how I miss those days Watch them stream away I wave, but they don’t wave back at me Guess they’re just afraid That they might get seen Maybe afraid of what they wanna be Somewhat frequently It all makes sense Prisoners of earth Listen to the stories from before your birth Train for the game Guess I’m in the rain Everything about it is so fucking insane It’s been a long time You never lost touch Here comes an old witch with a poisoned apple Bring it to me I’ll take a bite Every last piece until I lose the light I can only take what I untamed Meet at the bottom I never think about the days everyone’s talking about They were the best, oh yes You said you liked the way I dressed Now see, that was the story of my youth. I hope it makes sense to you Cause it doesn’t make sense to me.
