@@BigFrogs4x4 I certainly dont expect you to do all these things but these are the things i'd like to see Whatever happens Thank you.. 1. hanger bearing replacemnet 2. apps replacement and set up 3. oil pan replacement 4 upper and lower ball joint replacement with a worn c where the ball joint goes 5. bd noise isolator 6 explain how the apps signal goes to the ecm and then to pcm then what happens 7 what to check for a no crank 8 checking cranking but no start 9 replacing the lift pump in tank with one on frame 10 trans service and properly adjust oil leval 11 engine oil service with fuel filter 12 how to adjust a tv cable 13 diff locker and gears

Some of those I will be doing. Right now the truck doesn't run. Needs injectors and I've been trying to save the $ for full upgrade to pump, and new turbo arp studs etc. But it's about $7k. So for now the truck is sitting until I can get the cash. Stay tuned. I will release video as I can. I already have the airdog 150 pump. Before I could install it 2 injectors went bad.

Just a thought. You might want to apply some anti-seize compound to the 6 fan clutch bolts since it’s steel into aluminum. Great detailed video 👍🏻

The fan doesn't attach to the water pump. The water pump on the Cummins is off to the pass side.

I have 1 or 2 injectors bad so i want to upgrade. Gonna cost me 7-8k for new injectors, turbo etc.

Its an early 07. Still 5.9. 100k miles. I bought it with 59k miles. I think person before me ran it hard with a tuner. Signs it may have had a banks 6 gun in it.

I have no problem with you posting this for help. I watch another KZbin this morning. And the guy replaced a/c compressor the line and reservoir on the fire wall. When he replaced those a/c parts. Still cool like mine. Then he replaced the a/c condenser and that fixed his problem. He a/c got cold to 42 degrees. If i can find his video i will try send it to u

It is possible you have a small blockage somewhere. When I took my a/c class for my ase certification they recommended when replacing the compressor to do the dryer and condenser as well. Plus have the rest of the a/c system flushed. Over time small particles can mix with the oils and cause restrictions or blockages.

My 03 ram 3500 fan spins pretty freely by hand with motor off(1-2 revolutions) . Also can stop by hand with motor running. Thing I don't get is only overheats when pulling trailer with some weight, but not driving just the truck around? Just had water pump and thermostat replaced, and was wondering if the new thermostat could be not opening "all" the way causing this problem of not over heating except pulling 2-8 tons. Anyway, if fan spins freely you think It's 99% the fan. Wonder if I should put old thermostat back in , which worked properly before all the work was done by a shop(flush,H2O pump , thermostat, hoses, belts) a couple months ago and the temperature was temperamental from day one right after the work. Why I'm leaning to the new thermostat being 1/2 stuck open and bad out of the box. What you think? p.s. do you know how much nut torque on thermostat housing bolts on the dodge 5.9? Thanks Rickster

When the fan clutch is engaged you should not be able to stop the fan. Nor would I try. If the fan clutch isn't properly engaging it could be a possible problem. Can you see on a temp gauge when the temp goes up? Should be able to see the thermostat open and close by watching temp hit its open point and close. If you pull the thermostat you can put it in a pot of water and bring it to a boil. Once it opens look at it and see if it is open all the way. You also may have air trapped somewhere not allowing coolant to circulate properly.

Where did it break? What broke? Do you mean the wires, plug or the metal bracket the wire runs in?

@@BigFrogs4x4 I had to replace my oil pan on my 2007 3500 and Im assuming the engine was pulled up too far which broke the harness near top. plug is still in fan clutch. My question is.... is that harness separate or do I need to replace my fan clutch?

@@Crnegrede you could try to use marine style butt connectors and repair the wires. It be cheaper to try that first.

Is there a sensor for the fan speed? I put a new fan and clutch on my 03 Dodge 2500 diesel this summer and it seem like it goes at full speed all the time, in the winter in Colorado it never seems to get warm enough for the heater to really warm the cab? Or maybe just a thermostat problem? is there a way to test the fan to make sure its working correctly?

Hum, I have some research to do. I believe it runs all the time. Feel the hoses for the heater core going through the firewall. Both should be hot. If 1 is cool or cold you will need to back flush the core. Let me look into how the fan runs. I believe it is all the time.

@@BigFrogs4x4 It spins all the time but as it gets hot it runs faster as the clutch engages, maybe the old one was so worn out I didn't realize it until I replaced it. May have to look into a new thermostat since it got pretty hot before I replaced the fan & clutch, when I was pulling a camper

My 2005 5.9 cummins is throwing the p0483 code fam speed but my fan clutch is good and blows like a hurricane and the code comes I clear It then comes back after a couple months. I’m wondering if maybe the fan is hitting the shroud a little to cause it to slow down to throw the code any advice?

Look at the fan tips and shroud for any signs it may be hitting. It was the same for mine. It was working properly. Fan ran and everything seemed fine.

You may just have a snap or bolt/screw off if its rubbing. You shouldnt have to replace the shroud if it isnt broken. If it is i would try a scrap yard first.

I need some advice. I have a 2006 dodge ram 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins. My a/c got warm in july 2018. Took it to the a/c shop. They said it was low in freon. So$125.00 to do the freon. I pick up the truck and the a/c would blow cool air. I took it back and the a/c man told me i need a/c compressor. A new line and the canister on the fire wall. So $500 more spent. And the a/c still blows cool. Now he is telling me that it is the fan clutch that is the problem. If it is the fan clutch. A oem from dodge dealership is $580.14. Will the after market fan clutch. Will it hold up like the oem from dodge dealership? I need some good advice

I only got about 1k miles on mine before the fuel injectors went out. And right now I don't have the money to replace them yet. But in that 1k miles the cheap one has been fine. It is worth it to me since i do my own work. But if you want someone else to do the install then you may want to consider one with a warranty. But most of the time labor isn't covered under a part warranty. Maybe ask around and see if a friend can help do the install if you don't work on your own truck. All online parts are a gamble. But in my case it was worth the gamble. Hope this helps some. Need more just ask. Thanks for watching.

Mine either and I'm averaging 6 years on OEM. There's really no rock solid fix to these. If ferd put Cummins engines in their sooper poopies, I'd have a ferd in my driveway.

Boy thats a tough one. Generally a check engine light comes on when the fan clutch is going bad. But I can't say always. Do you mind if I post your question/situation on KZbin? No name mentioned of course unless you want me to.

Yes and no. You'll still have the P0480 but it won't illuminate the CEL.

My A/C wouldn't work. But the charge level was good and when the compressor clutch was manually engaged the pressures were good. Pressure switches were good as well. Did some online research to find the fan clutch engages when A/C is switched on. If it won't turn on the A/C won't come on.

Pulled this from the web. Trace your ecm power supply. Check connections at both batteries. If you're using an OBD-II scanner to find out why your check engine light is on, a P2509 code means that your engine's electric signal to the ECM is intermittent rather than constant. As a result, the ECM is not getting the steady power supply from the battery it needs to function properly.

I get the code now i got p063D p0480 u1401 i changed the terminals on the passenger side with copper lug terminals and marine style terminasl and nothing even changed the positive cable from b to b
