New York Magazine’s Senior Art Critic Jerry Saltz rarely misses a gallery or museum opening. With a stroke of a pen, he can make or destroy a new artist. Known as the ”people’s critic,” he tells Jim Zirin what he likes, and what he detests about the art world, which he sees as increasingly obsessed with money. But do we need critics to tell us what art is good?

I’m not happy with the way he talks about art, not everything is art. And there’s a good reason why art it’s important, and why we need good art critics. His response I DONT KNOW “ it’s the answer of someone for me is not really well educated. He needs to read more.
