My wife and I found your videos a fortnight ago and you've honestly made lockdown so much more bearable. We ended up surprise ordering each other cookie kits on the same day and now we've gone all in and bought a stand mixer and what feels like our own body weight in chocolate chips! Thanks so much to you, Jemma and everyone else at C&D for being such rays of sunshine and lifting our spirits every time lockdown gets a bit much!

I made my first batch yesterday , the adults in the house liked them the kids liked the muffins I made . Win win . PS , I can’t wait for this madness to be over & we can travel to London to check out the goodies on offer @ C&D . Keep going guys xx

When you took a bite and laughed, I laughed too and then it hit me that I've seen you more than my own friends who used to make me laugh this past year. So of course I got a bit emotional. Haha. Thanks for keeping up the morale and being there for us. I watch your videos, obsess about the recipes, learn new things, hunt down ingredients to make them and then enjoy eating them. That's quite a lot of the week I end up expending not thinking about our current situation. This channel is doing that. Thank you.

Great recipe and clear instructions , thank you . The almond flavouring is the “essence “ of the tarts so I wouldn’t even suggest an opt out .

We can't wait to have Jemma back too but it's just not possible right now with corona and looking after a very young baby unfortunately - safety is top priority. Don't worry though we're working on it and she'll be on the channel real soon! ;)

I use a micro plainer to even out the top of my tart cases. I find it safer than a knife, but that is just my preference. I also made a cherry “goo” and used it instead of raspberry jam... so good 🤤

Didn’t make the filling but used the tart recipe. TURNED OUT AMAZING!! Did it for the third time today. My entire family loves it. Would def recommend!!

Perhaps it might be possible to make a Welsh honey cake. Great warm as is or cold with cream mixed honey decoration, also icing mixed with honey. As we say in Wales Lush!!!

I want to send huge thanks to everyone at C&D for producing this wonderful channel. Thanks to you, I started to bake with my sister during the first lockdown and we are gradually working our way through all your recipes. We are now competent enough to make delicious cakes for our friends and family and have our own Instagram page! I would love to see you make millefeuille and old fashioned sponge fruit flan. It would be great to see your recipes for diplomat cream and chocolate SMBC. I made your caramelised white chocolate SMBC and it was delicious but couldn’t see a recipe for a chocolate SMBC, unless I just missed! You have genuinely helped us to get through lockdown. You are all amazing. Thank you.

Hello from Nevada in the USA where many BIG Hotels and Casinos are still closed too! Hopefully, this ends soon and everyone, EVERYWHERE, can open up their businesses. If I came to the UK; I'd surely visit your bakery. This recipe for the gorgeous Cherry Bakewell Tarts looks excellent, and it was perfectly presented. I tried this at the weekend - it was so delicious 😍 I couldn’t taste as much almond as I’d have preferred... anyone else found the same? Not sure if I’ve got a dodgy almond extract! Thank you so much for a great descriptive video Sally - always laughing and bringing so much joy 🥰 x

I've found that almond extract loses intensity over time, so I always give it a sniff before I start baking. If the aroma is weak, I toss the bottle, run to the shop, and buy another bottle. Happy baking, Becca!

Funny story: The first time I tried using weights for my pastry crust, I was around 10 years old, I had the information that you could use beans and it would work just as good as the fancy pie weights. What I had forgotten about the whole thing was when using ANY pie/pastry weights you must use grease proof/parchment paper. I...did not. Needless to say my little self was there picking pinto beans out of my pie crust for a long time and in the end the crust had a slight beany taste to it too. The whole thing was a flop. But I remembered to always use parchment from then on.

I was really enjoying watching, but then thought "what a palaver"....but I stuck with it and gradually started to change my mind. At the end I just thought "what a RESULT" !! You broke the steps down into bite size pieces (no pun) and then brought it all together. I'll definitely give these a crack...and if my family are lucky I might even save one for them !! (One each I mean. I'm not THAT greedy). Great video, Sally, and you are a lot of fun.

I have tried some recipes I have found on the internet and while they are good they are not quite right. I am sure your team could come up with a much better version. Always hoping... thank you

Great video Sally! I’ll definitely be making these for the other half, he loves cherry bakewells! It would be fantastic if you and Jemma alternate videos, it would be a shame to lose your cheery disposition every week! 😂 What I would love to see in a future video is (as pancake day is fast approaching) how to make a stack of epic American style buttermilk pancakes and also your take on a key lime pie! Thanks to crumbs and doilies for the constant content to get us through these crazy times!

I have managed to lose almost 3 stone during lockdown - through a lot of effort I might add - so watching this channel is a bit like playing with fire. That said, as long as I just watch I am sure I will not put on any weight 😂 I love the recipes, the jolliness of both Sally and Jemma, and do occasionally bake some goodies for a weekend treat. Thanks for adding some 'sunshine' to all these dreary lockdown days, weeks, and months 💗
