I’ve had my 3D printer for two years, the first six months I wasn’t able to use due to the fact that my mom did not like the smell of burning PLA, then I just took 3 days to understand the settings and how the machine works and how to start it since it needs a little hand holding as I call it. But after I got the test print done I was intimidated by the whole idea of having to make a actual print. So for the last year and a half I haven’t touched it. Thank you this was very helpful

As a beginner, there seems to be a lot of steps to making a model and printing it. From the context here, it seems the model is designed in a cad program and then loaded into a "slicer". It would be helpful if someone did an overview showing how these relate to each other and what works with what. There seem to be a lot of ways to build models and different kinds of files. What works with what?

Hi, I have a quick question if you don't mind. I was wondering if I could import an image of something. Let's say the outline of a giraffe's face cropped out on photoshop! Could I then take the image and make that 3d? not create a full giraffe's head, just the giraffe's face but with say a quarter of an inch thick. So if I stuck it on my wall it would stick out a little bit? (just an example lol!)
@3DNow4 жыл бұрын
You would have to create a sketch of the outline in a CAD program and extrude it. Check out my videos on Fusion 360.

The bed size should be put into the slicer in mm. Then you should be able to move the print to the center of the bed.

Thanks. I selected Creality CR10 out of all the printers and changed the bed setting to the Ender 3. I see there are printer head settings which I assume they are creality CR10 are they the same as Ender 3. Where do you find the info on what to set other setting to like the printer head?

You should not have to change the printer head in the printer settings. It should be done when you are slicing your part.
