Pretty close to how we make it in South Karnataka region. I like the taste of pounded ginger added in the curd rice. Gives a burst of flavours. We don’t add cumin seeds since we have already added mustard. But some people do. Also we add some split bengal gram along with split black gram to increase the crunch in the otherwise mushy rice preparation.
