Thank you, Dr. Ellie! I’m 76 years old and had been so embarrassed about my receding gums! Then my real answer to prayer was finding you and THE PROCESS you created which, going on 3 months, the results are incredible! Wish I’d taken photos! Still looking forward to more healing but I’m no longer trying not to smile too big when around people! Also, an added benefit from your regimen is that I’m no longer mindlessly eating between meals … a habit I’d longed to overcome! I watch your videos over and over always learning more! We can’t do without you, so God bless!

I started using your methods a couple months ago with some personal adjustments (no xylitol, just rinse my mouth with baking soda and water for a minute after eating and I don't waste my money on mouthwash), just had a dental check-up. She barely found any plaque. It'll be interesting to see what the report is in another six months. I'm hoping I can just start having annual exams without the cleanings.

Thankyou sooo much Dr Ellie for all you share! I am about 3 weeks into using xylitol mints (average 6gms per day) and a small build up of tartar that I have on the lower front two teeth is so much better already..... this morning I could barely see any of it! Also, I purchased the Dr Plotka toothbrushes you recommend and, since they arrived (about 10 days ago) I have been using them (one for day, one for night) and doing the gum massage as well. Hi Dr. I’m 40 and I always took good care of my teeth. I used to use electric toothbrush, and do whitening at home. Now I have gum recession and sensitivity. I’ve been using your system religiously for a month now, and I see improvement on the sensitivity but not on the recession yet. I’m very pleased with this system, so much that I’m spreading the word and even bought the whole system to send out to my military deployed husband out in the sea. Have you thought about working and educating the military? For months they don’t have access to dentist when deployed, and if they can take care of their teeth on their own, they’re all set! Thank you for educating and helping us! Always looking forward for a new video, even to listen the same info haha.

I had to have all but 6 of my teeth pulled. The dentist never said anything about periodontal disease he said I was brushing my gums away from my teeth. When I finally got to a dentist that does dentures he said that wasn't true, I had periodontal disease in the 6 left. I was never told I had periodontal disease just brushing too hard and get a soft toothbrush. Why does every dentist not follow the same guidelines? I hope I don't lose the last 6 on the bottom .

Until the age of 50 I had not had any major issues with my teeth....they were quite nice. Then my daughter, who is handicapped, came with my grandkids and stayed with me for 9 months. About a month into the stay I happened to notice I hadn't seen her tooth brush so I asked her, Honey what toothbrush are you using? She had developed in the last 2 years a terrible tooth problem that was causing significant decay at the gum line and her teeth were thinning and rotting at the gumline. I panicked! Unfortunately, within 6 months I noticed the same decay pattern in my own beautiful teeth. 😭 I had brushed my teeth at least 2 times per day with this same toothbrush unknowingly. When I spoke with the dentist he would not give any weight to my story of what had occurred, but instead attributed it to aging, menopause, etc .. I'm still angry as I ended up losing my teeth due to the high cost associated with the major work he wanted to do. I simply didn't have thousands of dollars. It has made me very, very conscientious about the teeth of the 2 grandchildren I am raising. Having natural teeth is such a blessing.

Excellent video yet again, but can I add some misunderstood questions.There's this confusion between white oral thrush and plaque I see people asking what's this white stringy stuff that appears after cleaning teeth and the answers are multiple, everything from shedding of old cells, harsh chemicals in the toothpaste. Second question, while following Dr Ellie what should we be noticing daily, like is this plaque when using xylitol inhibiting the plaque from forming on the teeth and thus it collects on the soft tissue at which point it can be wiped away. The less sticky the saliva, the greater reduction load of the plaque in the mouth, I think these are just some of the questions that will help aid those of us following Dr Ellie strategy.

Without wishing to give offence to anyone, I've always had lower expectations when I found my mouth in the hands of a female dentist than a male one. I'm not exactly sure why as I've had no such apprehensions where doctors are concerned, (although a strikingly pretty young Dutch dentist who chickened out of replacing my crown just because the x-ray showed I'd had previously had root-canal work on the tooth may have been the start of it.) Dr Ellie is, however, easily the SMARTEST dentist I've come across. Her approach is 'joined-up' in a medically wholistic way and her sheer breadth of knowledge on any mouth issue on which she speaks is just breath-taking. Her former patients must have the best teeth and healthiest mouths in America.

Who is this dentist?
@Autonomy0
@Autonomy0 27 күн бұрын
@@olgawahl4389 It was back in the summer of 2008, just before I left Holland so I cannot recall her name. I am also not sure it would be fair to reveal her name even if I did recall it as she was no more than mid-twenties then (and therefore new in practice) and so - in all probability - may well have gained greater confidence in her competence over a further 16 years of practice. I would, frankly, be astonished if that were not the case. What I will say is that she was in the Amsterdam area and was working during a period when every other dentist in Amsterdam seemed to be away on a one month holiday. Having given information that could conceivably identify her, it is only fair that I also add that she was good enough to offer to email the x-ray of the tooth in question to me so that I could pass it on to whichever dentist I went to back in the UK. In that respect she was a good deal more conscientious than the next youngish female dentist my forgiving nature caused me to ply her trade in my mouth. That was right in the centre of Newcastle some eleven years later. With the passage of time; her assured, business-like demeanour (and the fact that - in strong contrast to the Dutch one - she had a face like the back of a bus) I took a chance on her for the replacement of a metal crown on a rear molar (done in elsewhere the previous year). There was still blood when I flossed, suggesting that it hadn't healed properly though I had no pain. Where the metal crown had been a 'clone' of the original tooth in size, she replaced it with a visibly smaller porcelain one. The bleeding was no longer a problem but about a year later about 20% of it broke off (a corner). Seeking to avoid being ripped of by private dentists with their post-Covid monopoly, I contacted the Newcastle dentist to put it to her that as it wasn't practicable for me to come back to Newcastle for the repair and the job had been done on the NHS, wasn't it reasonable for her to assist me in getting the repair done on the NHS in my new location. I chew xylitol gums all the time every day. I attempted to brush my teeth with xytitol for a couple of weeks. I used an excessive amount and it tasted good. I also didn't eat or drink for an hour afterwards, but it didn't do anything for my receding gums and the pockets that had formed. I actually began to develop more tarter on my teeth which the higher quality fluoride t-paste easily kept at bay. I went to baking soda mixed with hydrogen peroxide and bang! No more inflammation of the gumline or tarter! I can even miss brushing my teeth for a day (gross) and still get no tarter! Found out while under the weather... My teeth feel better and more healthy after a couple of months of this than ever before!

If the majority of people in America ( at age 70 ) had great teeth, then I would say dental education is doing a good job. Doesn’t the alcohol in Listerine kill both the good and bad bacteria in your mouth?
@dr.elliephillips
@dr.elliephillips 16 күн бұрын
No it doesn't. If it did, people would wipe out all their oral bacteria with martini cocktails.... For alcohol to be "sterilizing" it needs to dry completely and be around 60-70% alcohol. If you use alcohol sanitizing wipes they say not to use on wet or dirty hands The mouth is both wet with saliva and 'dirty" with biofilm/slime. The Listerine is 21% alcohol and this is then diluted in the mouth and the mouth is protected by slime/biofilm. The use of things like baking soda or peroxide that strip biofilm from surfaces is far more damaging. Furthermore, the active ingredients in Listerine are essential oils - eucalyptus, menthol and thymol in very dilute concentrations. They target immature plaque bacteria. i recommend rinsing Listerine out of the mouth with ACT anyway. DrEllie.com

Classic teenage braces made my teeth look straight for a while back in the 80s/90s, but did nothing to address the narrow palate, which only worsened over the decades. Five years ago, my lower front teeth were so severely crowded that one tooth was behind the others in its own row. Now ALL 31 of my teeth are in their rightful place (I ignorantly let one healthy wisdom tooth be removed when I was young) because the jaw finally has room for them. See the Orthotopics page for an explanation.

What are your thoughts on using ozone injected into the space after an extraction to try to get rid of the infection that was happening under the tooth? Would your system plus xylitol be enough to clear out that kind of infection? I had a mercury amalgam removed from tooth #19 five years ago, which resulted in a crown, which never felt right, which became painful and infected, which had to be extracted. Was given a course of oral antibiotics, but not sure the extraction site was cleaned out properly. Would ozone be helpful before and/or after the ceramic implant is placed?
