Same here- used the system- they were impressed- (i’m post-menopausal- things changed!!) Go to her website- It’s very particular chemical formulas, so precisely these few options: First the ph neutral rinse Closys (mint or no- fine) Brush GUMS (like a massage- less at gum line because that may be irritating?- and brush down over teeth) with Crest anticavity (sodium fluoride) Rinse with listerine original or coolmint Then ACT Anticavity fluoride rinse-mint, cinnamon or bubblegum flavors only - nothing fancier. (she’s trying to reduce the number of possible irritants in each one of these rinses. Each part of this has scientific research she bases it off of. She owns the Zellie’s xylitol mint company- she wanted to create a mint that had no other sugars in it- just xylitol. I was using them before I heard about her and her protocol. 5th step- Use xylitol throughout the day Stimulating blood flow to the gums to help them heal (step two), and saliva is how teeth remineralize so the xylitol helps Keep the saliva flowing and keep the bacteria count down. (I was drinking so much water. I was washing away my saliva all day. Or at least sipping frequently. But maybe just understanding how to not irritate gum tissue, and how important saliva is might be enough. Maybe you don’t need to do all this other protocol stuff? I didn’t understand why I kept getting cavities so I’m doing the whole routine just to be safe. Make sure your nose breathing while you sleep because mouth breathing also irritates your gums . X-rays before and after Dr Ellie’s complete mouth care system shows the success. I won't say how many years it's been since I had a recommended deep cleaning, but here's why I don't have this done: The dental assistant said the cleaning would require novocaine and then gave me a shot. It did not numb my jaw. After 4 shots, I told her I couldn't move my eye. She said that wasn't possible. After 7 shots, the dentist came out and asked what was going on. She was upset with the assistant and told her my cranial nerves were obviously in a slightly different spot. Then she gave me the 8th shot, which finally numbed my jaw. That was just for my right side. They messed up 3 times in my left side, so in total, I was given 12 shots. So, if following your program keeps me from having to relive that nightmare (and yes, I was unable to even blink my right eye), I am more than happy to do your program. Thanks for sharing your insights.

I had deep pockets and severe gum and periodontal disease. I had 2 teeth extracted because they were virtually falling out on their own. I had a high sugar (fruit and grains) and very low fat lean meat diet, what is supposedly a healthy diet. I also had the grove from brushing whilst eating an acidic diet. The advice from my dentist was fluoride toothpaste and flossing, (both of which hadn't stopped it happening) but ultimately to have all the teeth removed! I discovered Wester A Price and a low carb diet. The moment I cut all sugars (carbs) and focused on fatty meat, my gums improved. I added Co end Q10, improved further and started oil pulling with coconut oil instead of brushing with toothpaste. Massive improvement, no more gum disease and 5 years later the X-ray showed periodontal disease had stopped.

And my doctor father says it’s reactive arthrithis, caused by the gum infection. It hurts so much and I cant walk without crutches and barely then. I can’t go food shopping or anything. Dr.Ellie’s program IS working. It took almost a year for me to really start seeing results, but I have a few things slowing progress…an extended series of Invisalign (finally moved to nightly retainers a year ago) and I’m also 47, so there might be some hormonal changes starting? I don’t know. While on Invisalign, during the last 6 months, I noticed SIGNIFICANT gum recession and thinning…as in, gums receded more than 1/4 inch in the front 6 bottom teeth and about 1/8 inch everywhere else. Very uniform recession and thinning. The dentist deemed it to be most likely hormonal perimenopause, but to continue on with the Invisalign. It’s SO hideous. My kids got the game Speak Out, and I cringe every time they want to play. Anyhoo, it’s been about a year since I started Dr.Ellie’s program, not properly at first, was only doing it at night, with a quick brush in the AM and go. I’m finally seeing some changes, so I’m trying to get the full AM swishes in too. Using Dr.Ellie’s mints, and the Spry ones when they’re out of stock. I like to say I have little “gum buds” since the gum tissue seems to be growing in between my teeth faster than the front. It’s working and I’m happy! Thank you Dr.Ellie!

Ya right. All that being said, I would get Invisalign again knowing what would happen to my gums. I had crossbite and had broken two molars from grinding and clenching. My teeth looked perfect from the front but my bite was way off on the sides. I had intense neck and jaw pain everyday, it was horrible. I wore mouthguards every night since I was a kid and they didn’t help. I have had NO pain at all since Invisalign fixed my bite. It’s such a relief.

But you could've gotten braces instead of Invisalign. Maybe the trays caused the recession where traditional braces wouldn't have them.

@@sweetbeep I hadn’t either. My top jaw was smaller than my bottom, so my bite wasn’t lining up properly. I had my top teeth widened side to side and my lower ones pushed in a bit on the sides. I had the Invisalign “braces” with 26 attachments and rubber bands for 3 years, was supposed to be only 18 months. Due to 2 stubborn teeth not moving and a long office closure (thanks Covid) it was extended to 3 years. The retainers had to be worn for 6 months full time after my attachments came off. Now I just wear them at night…for the rest of my life. The way my dentist explained it: your teeth have a memory and they always want to go back to their original position, so if you don’t wear your night time retainers, they will start to move back. I believe this is true, since my retainers always fit well and are comfortable, but we went over vacation for a week and I opted to not bring them. When we got back and I put them in the first night, they were uncomfortable and tight for a bit.

Just started using the entire system x 1 month & though early, am finding absolute improvements. The routine itself helps me just stay thoughtful & aware of a few things. I cut out late night snacks ages ago---now, I'm back in routine of 'getting ready for bed', which I'd meant to do for ages (shut off computer, etc etc)--but never quite Did. Now? I remember I enjoy disconnecting, lowering lights, listening to music---bath time & Dr Ellie's system helps with that. Even xylitol has a place that makes sense. If only I'd known 50 years ago. What I appreciate most? The lack of judgement in Dr Ellie's approach. I've been traumatized by dental staff clucking at my abject failure as a human being and citizen. Honestly, some dentists may as well have a side door to their firing squad in the driveway. I appreciate this vid about recession v infection. Just having calm Information without hysterics is encouraging. Thank you.

During my last cleaning the hygienist was alarmed to see the significant gum recession since my previous cleaning 6 months ago recommending a program of deep cleaning every 3 months. Since after the visit my mouth was very sore I began researching alternative treaments to avoid the pain of "deep cleaning". I was fortunate to find Dr. Ellie's videos which educated me on the cause of my issues as well as providing a program to resolve the problem. I have been following her mouth care program for 30days and feel like my gums are healing. But because i felt 'empowered ' i decided that i would try using a cotton ball with baking soda and water paste to speed up the process of eliminating the yellow stains. I gently wiped the paste over my teeth then realized the gums on the back of my bottom teeth began bleeding. So i am no longer experimenting and will continue to follow Dr Ellies program with more patience. I will go back to the dentist in 2 months to get an evaluation. I feel confident the dentist will see an improvement and will no longer recommend the deep cleaning. Thank you Dr. Ellie!😁

17:20 the goal of orthodontic treatment is to get teeth aligned in the proper arch form. If you’re experiencing “recession from Invisalign” it’s possible either you’re doing online braces and not getting monitored properly by an orthodontist, or the specialist isn’t great. But this doesn’t mean “don’t get your teeth straightened” I’ve worked with patients with severe crowding and gum disease because they couldn’t properly clean the crowded teeth, and yes after straightening the teeth they developed recession in certain areas, but not because of Invisalign; rather because the Invisalign exposed hidden problems that we were then able to address. Please take everything you hear with a grain of salt.
@dr.elliephillips7 ай бұрын
Do you know that if people complain to invisalign about recession or mobility issues - they often settle out of court and get their money back, but with an agreement they will not share their negative experiences? This means we do not hear about the bad cases. As an RDH have you noticed recession associated with retainers personally? I had no idea until last year when I began to ask more questions about recession and discovered this was more prevalent than could be random.
@askahygienist7 ай бұрын
@@dr.elliephillips I don't know, Dr. Ellie, I personally have been wearing retainers for years now and I haven't noticed any recession. Any recession I see on patients is clearly associated with either poor alignment (haven't had braces), bad oral hygiene (plaque building up at sites of recession, clenching and grinding, or things like attached frenum and/or thin tissue type, as well as fenestration of canines. What is it about retainers that you think would logically cause recession? the plastic material? In that case, there are microplastics in a lot of toothpastes, so we could blame toothpaste.. You are telling people to stop brushing teeth (brush gums instead), stop flossing, stop getting cleanings, but I feel it's misleading; even if your system works, a lot of people have a very bad oral health situation to begin with and need to get on track with a good dental cleaning first. You mention in passing that "if you have some serious problems, maybe get a dental cleaning, but then avoid cleanings in the future and use my complete system instead" I think at least that needs to be made very clear that people can't just jump in to your recommended routine... I don't have dental issues but I will probably try your system to have my own proof, but so far I feel like your recommendations are misleading at best. The problem also with a lot of the positive testimonies is the general public doesn't always understand what a "healthy mouth" looks like. periodontal disease, as you know, is a silent process, and if people see "cleaner teeth" on the surface or their tooth pain has subsided using your system, that is not necessarily an indication of optimal oral health. I'd love to see a thorough case study video following one patient's journey with your system, or even some photos and x-rays of your own teeth. I don't mean to be rude, I'm all for helping people avoid dental costs and oral health problems, but all your teaching is seriously going against everything I know to be true, so please understand my skepticism. Millions of people are watching your information and I want to make sure it's not harmful. Thanks for replying.

@@dr.elliephillips I understand that a lot of people have dental issues, but also, a lot of people don’t take care of their teeth properly. Most don’t brush correctly and even more don’t even bother to floss. Diet and lifestyle are also a mess. I personally don’t have any dental issues, not following your system. I’ve had bad teeth in the past, so it’s not like I’m genetically lucky, I just take good care of my teeth using traditional methods (brushing and flossing properly, consistently) and maintain good diet and lifestyle choices. In fact, I am a strict teeth cleaner and I have used a soft toothbrush, an electric toothbrush, for thirty years. I basically brush my teeth after every meal, three times a day! I hardly eat snacks. I used a thread to clean my teeth every night before going to bed. However, I noticed that my gums were receding and the gaps between my teeth were increasing. There was nothing I could do about it until I saw your KZbin 6 months ago! From your video, I found that I only brushed teeth, but not gum early. Now I had brushed gum and teeth for six months with hard teeth brush. I see my gum is growing back! I am not bleeding in once! Thanks! Angel Dr. Ellie! Second information I got from video, after brushing teeth, I will not drink water or eating food in one or two hours. I will wait the gum and teeth protection has grew back. Third, after eating acid food, such as orange, don't brush teeth. Nowadays, I use Xlytol after luch, intead brushing teeth immediately. I use my saliva to let my gum grew! Thanks! Forth, I really don't like to go to see dentist, every time in teeth cleaning, my gum was bleeding a lot, and my teeth gap was increased. Now I really determined not to go to dentist to clean my teeth. After seeing your video, I am getting confidence! According to your complete mouth cleaning system, I started to use Listerine Teeth and Gum after brushing teeth. Early, I did have a attitude against all chemials.However, if it saves my gum and teeth, why not use it? I had gum recession for awhile that I had stopped, but during the time I had it, I got gum line cavities. They're really ugly 😥 I'm in my 60s and my teeth aren't as strong as they used to be. These new gum line cavities are continuing to be a problem. 😢 I've been following your recommendations to stop and reverse the cavities but don't see improvement yet 😥 I do have less sensitivity in a couple teeth that were bothering me though!! 💖 So I know I'm at least I'm moving in the right direction. I'd become very distrustful of dentists long ago and am so happy I ran across you Dr. Ellie 💖 Thank you 💖

I’d go as far as saying that these oral health practitioners are all in collusion to make money, rather than working towards a cure . When I asked my primary care dentist why my gum was bleeding despite everything I was doing, what could I do ? All he said was to go to a periodontist. Thanks to doctors Ellie’s system , I’ve experienced massive improvement.

@@sweetbeep I just started about a month ago. I do feel it's making a difference in the health of my teeth, but these gum line cavities are scaring me as I don't trust dentists and don't want to go. I just want them to magically heal. I did heal a gum line cavity (the only one I ever got to that point) about 2 decades ago. I actually got the enamel to grow back. It healed like a wound on our skin. But now I'm in my 60s and my teeth seem a lot weaker and these new gum line cavities are not seeming to want to heal.

@@LoveVanillaRose thanks so much. I am scared too! I have been reading a whole lot, as much as I can. There is this tooth putty from bliss energetics that some people get benefit from. They apply it as spot treatment. They spell it "puddy" for some reason. They don't always have it available but it's coming out in about a week again I think. Can I ask if the gumline cavity you had two decades ago had gum recession? Did the gums then grow back over? Did the color of the tooth change? Thank you!
@LoveVanillaRose7 ай бұрын
@@sweetbeep Yes, it was from gum recession and I got the enamel to grow back over it. It healed like a scab on our skin and went back to white. The gums did not grow back the tooth just created enamel in the newly exposed area. But now that I'm older, that's not happening with my new gum line decay 😪 It's my own fault. When I get hard times in life I neglect my teeth. Slump..... I will be very grateful if I can at lease bring a halt to the decay process.

I use xyliwhite, hydroxyapatite, and ayurvedic herbal toothpaste (all cheap and super affordable, nothing fancy) and just rotate what i use throughout week. A one pound bag of xylitol costs about $10 and it should be enough xylitol to help you as a tooth cleaner, and to prevent cavities. A good MOUTHWATCHERS toothbrush costs about $5 The necessaary toothpaste at Walmart is $1.69 - but ENSURE you get the correct Crest toothpaste with sodium fluoride and NOT STANNOUS! If you just use these products - at a cost of less than $20 you will improve your mouth health.

I had some sort of laser gum surgery, and it ruined my teeth. The surgery pinkened some my gums at first, but my gums shrank up, and they had not told me that this would happen. In fact, they said it would cause my gums to regrow. So now I have gaps between every tooth, and I have to toothpick them all, not just one or two, all of them. These gaps are food and bacteria magnets. The only problematic teeth were the 4 on the bottom center, and I could tell one tooth next to these 4 was next. When they do this surgery, they are pulling healthy tissue away from the teeth, not just working on problem areas. Infection ended up spreading right, so even more recession. All of these exposed roots/roughened areas between my teeth, once covered by gum, stain now, too. Then a dentist, reading in my records how unhappy I was, used some sort of pumice paste to clean them, holding the spinning brush on each tooth, focusing on in between the teeth. I think she was basically trying to smooth down those rough areas so that they'd be less likely to stain. Well, now, even if my gums wanted to reattach, they have nothing rough to grab onto. I, also, don't like that ultrasonic sprayer they use. First time it was ever done, the girl had it on fullblast, chipped a tooth, and the next day an abscess pooled at the very bottom of one of my bottom front teeth. It didn't hurt, but it burst. Since it burst, I canceled my appointment. I couldn't brush any of my front teeth for 4 days, regardless, that tool blew my gums apart so bad. They used that on me just recently, and never again. That tool blows my gums apart and causes recession. Just scale them and keep those power tools away from my mouth. I used to have a beautiful smile and didn't have to check in the mirror after I ate. I never even had braces. Just one tooth was a millimeter off, and I remember my dentist saying what a shame. It never bothered me though. It wasn't that bad at all. Now I hate my teeth.

I love your explanation of all causes and dental issues. I need to ask you about a root cause of mouth ulcers what I am having very often .Thank you
@dr.elliephillips5 сағат бұрын
A healthy mouth is naturally protected by healthy biofilm - a thin film that covers everywhere - over the surface of your teeth, cheeks, tongue and down your throat and into your nose - all a mesh of communicating cells, bacteria and proteins. When you lose this covering - teeth can become damaged, abraded, worn and develop cavities. If your skin of the mouth loses this protective covering it can also be damaged and ulcers will form. How does this biofilm become damaged...baking soda and artificial tooth whitening products - peroxide and stannous fluoride products are the most common problems. The solution is to use Zellies xylitol ( and get on my entire system - working slowly up to using the Listerine and ACT steps as at first your mouth may not tolerate them. Start slowly rinsing with them for just a second or two - and soon your mouth will get healthier and you will have no problem rinsing longer). Be sure to rest your mouth after a meal - you will FEEL this slick comfortable feeling on your teeth. Do this often and your mouth will become protected. To sooth a painful ulcer - smooth on some olive oil over the ulcer.

You may find now that your enamel is stronger that you can phase out the night guard and see if that helps your gums.
@hannahcrabtree5998 ай бұрын
I am glad to have found Dr. Ellie's program. I'd like to ask what is it about a retainer or night guard that could be problematic?
@dr.elliephillips7 ай бұрын
First, who wants plastic in their mouth 24/7? Secondly, many retainers are unnecessary - the problem was ineffective or wrong dental care before sleeping at night. Other problems occur if teeth are moved into an "unnatural" position - during the night, and then they move back to where they "fit" during the day. I have seen people LOSE teeth - because of this see-saw motion.

Dr Ellie, I had braces when I was 12 years old and afterwards had perfectly straight teeth. At age 40 I began experiencing numerous dental issues. For 7 years I went through torture and every time I left the dentists office, I would feel worse. It's been 5 years since I've gone back to a dentist and now my teeth look like I never wore braces.... they are no longer straight. I am going to be starting your system soon, is there a possibility that they will straighten themselves out?

I have black triangles and periodontal disease. When they last measured my pockets I was 7-8mm. I am praying your system will help reverse alot of these problems I have been dealing with
@dr.elliephillips4 ай бұрын
@@ruthturconi Obviously I have no idea what your dental condition is - but my guess is moving your teeth moved them into an unstable position. People who move teeth around do not understand the VITAL importance of BITE...HOW teeth bite together matters. If this is off balance then you get gum recession, opening the door for sensitivity and gum disease. Personally I would get your mouth totally healthy - and perhaps reconsider if you NEED to straighten your teeth - to make you happy. After 2 years on my system if you have perfect oral health - you may prefer to consider some veneers on a couple of teeth - that can make your teeth look straight in a few weeks and without moving teeth around. This idea is often forgotten in all the marketing around invisalign. You may like the oral health video bootcamp - to help you navigate the next two years as you use my system. DrEllie.com. Just an idea.

QUESTION: I understand finishing every meal with xylitol. The free booklet says you use this plan twice a day. Once in the morning, and last thing before bed. Does "in the morning" mean as soon as you get up, before breakfast?
@dr.elliephillips26 күн бұрын
The idea is to look at your life schedule. The use of the system last thing before sleeping is non-negotiable. But the second time in the day that you use it is something you will want to decide for yourself. The idea is to find a time when you do not eat or drink again for some hours. For me, this may be a couple of hours after breakfast, even after coffee - and at a time when I will not be eating or drinking again for several hours.

Clear aligners, for some very minor tooth alignment corrections, destroyed the gums between my front teeth and left me with 7 black triangles that weren't there when I started treatment (2 upper, 5 lower). I'm about 2 months in to using Dr. Ellie's system and I'm starting to see slight improvements between my front teeth in two spots (i.e., slightly smaller triangles). I know it's working. Because when I do occasionally use an interdental brush, I've noticed that I have to use a smaller brush in those two spaces. I also have no longer have plaque building up anywhere and my teeth are slowly turning whiter (I drink coffee in the morning). I also know it's going to take a while... maybe a year or more. But it looks like I'm off to a good start. I'll make an update in a couple months.
