I have been using the complete mouth system for about 3 weeks. I am so impressed with the changes that I will never go back to my rigorous system that didn’t control the plaque formation. I do use the xylitol as recommended after meals. The biggest change for me is that my teeth don’t get sticky and rough during the day. They feel super clean and my gums look like there is no inflammation. I remember that you said the sensitivity would abate and that happened within a week. This has been a total game changer!❤

Me too! Me too! Me too! my teeth, feel so shiny and smooth and I can tell my gums are getting tighter. Plus my tongue never gets coded anymore. I have been meticulous about my teeth, my whole life, and my last visit to the dentist. I opted to go to the in-house periodontist because of gum recession, and had the shock of my life! She freaked me out so much! She was brutal… Is that normal? Total fear mongering. Said I was going to need to do these expensive deep cleanings and laser treatments every four months for the rest of my life. Made it sound like I was going to lose all my teeth if I didn’t… I couldn’t understand what happened. I’ve flossed, water flossed, I’ve brushed with the softest toothbrush, the past couple years… she said basically I was screwed because I was a woman. Hormones and genetics and over abundance of bacteria. After seeing Dr. Ellie‘s video about reversing gum, recession back in July, I’ve given up all that, and doing Dr. Ellie‘s protocol and what a difference! I’m no longer afraid of the future of my mouth! And even though it seems like a lot of products, it’s actually so easy… And I actually get excited about doing it every morning and every night! I have the cutest little white basket with everything all sitting in there, like my little tooth soldiers! It’s my Teeth Wellie Zellie basket! Thank you, Dr. Ellie !Thank you thank you thank you! Oh, and I am on AutoShip on Amazon for both the Zellie gum and mints, so I never run out ! ❤

Bad breath is truly fascinating! I have seen many videos about bad breath, but this one has information that I never knew. I love learning something new about bad breath. I do not believe that I have ever encountered bad breath from a dead tooth. I would love to! I will bet that it is utterly repulsive--like you could breath on dirt, and plants would then grow exceptionally green and healthy. But even ordinary halitosis is highly attention-getting. It's funny how someone can be the nicest person in the world, with a wonderful smile; but each syllable when they speak is like a puff of air from a septic tank. Even more amazing is how bad breath is one of the few phenomena in which everyone except the person who has it knows that he/she has it.

I use to have bad breath even immediately after brushing my teeth at night with all sorts of different toothpastes of all sorts of brands, including other kind of Crests. After I follow your God given gift of advices and just using the ordinary regular type Crest, even alone, it was instantly, immediately improving and refreshing my breath and that was when I was just only starting using the regular Crest and not yet got the Closys, regular Listerine and the regular anticavity mint Act mouthwashes. I also find that the taste of the anticavity arctic Act, blue colour, to be very awfully bitter. But the regular Act mint flavor is more pleasant.

Dear Dr. Ellie. I’ve been using your complete system for about four months, with great success, literally overnight. For most of my adult life, I used to floss, rinse off particles with a WaterPik, brush my teeth and tongue and STILL woke up with less than ideal breath. Now I use your three-rinse protocol, brush my gums, rarely floss and no longer use a WaterPik. I also dissolve Zellies throughout the day. My only concern is that the companies that make the products you recommend will change their formulas over time. I so wish you’d come up with your own line of rinses and toothpaste, just like you came up with Zellie’s mints and gum. Only then will we have access to the correct products well into the future. 🙏🏼

Yes, night time is the absolute most important time of all. The problem with only once a day is that you can end up with staining on your teeth - it's superficial -and will just be brushed off at the dentist - but to avoid this he would do well to try and fit in one other time - even after lunch each day.

I have actually been asked this a few times. I believe a healthy diet, sleep and exercise are important. I have never bleached or colored my hair - ever. I brush my hair with an old fashioned hair-brush (old Mason-Pearson brush). I use mustard oil on the ends of my hair if they seem dry or after swimming. You don't want to get this oil on your scalp or skin apparently, but I like its moisturizing effects. Other than that, I use regular old Fructis shampoo.....every few days :)

Ensure you have the correct products, Zellies mints after every meal - and then do not eat or DRINK anything for an hour or two - to allow your saliva to heal your gums. You need two of the correct toothbrushes - and allow them to air dry between uses. Do the gum massage on the areas where you have the pocketing and any calculus build up. If you are doing well with the system - maybe consider using the Original formulation of Listerine - as this will dissolve the sub-gingival calculus more quickly. I am rooting for you - and would love you to report back here after your next dental evaulation....so other can learn and believe :)

Xylitol is not nearly as effective on oral health when it is diluted by being mixed into any foods or liquids, so the spray will not give you the benefits you are seeking. It is best to just use the xylitol in the mouth plain and undiluted.

I followed her regimen perfectly for 6 months and my teeth got stained. I had to go in for a cleaning to get the stains off. First time going to the dentist in 10 years. Does anyone have any idea why my teeth were stained? I loved how clean my mouth felt and I wish I had answers
@SunrayStar4 ай бұрын
Yes, you were probably not brushing hard enough to remove dead plaque bacteria from your teeth that were staining them, but here are comments that Dr. Ellie left elsewhere: "Teeth staining: “Good stains” are seen on teeth when dental disease has been rapidly controlled, when the remnants of thick plaque and harmful bacteria die off quickly. The debris collects around the tooth, often looking like a dark stain at the gum line. This stain is the sign of improved oral health, less bleeding, and a healthier mouth and gums. A dental cleaning will quickly remove this kind of staining and leave the healthier teeth pristine and white. "If you do not have a cleaning within a couple of months of starting the complete system, the sudden improvement in your oral health may result in a thin band of stain forming around the edges of your teeth at the gum line. This staining is not a problem, is not permanent, and is not at all unhealthy. This stain is dead plaque debris that has shriveled up and formed a hair-like deposit around the edge of your teeth. One cleaning at the dentist will remove this band of debris. “This staining is a common problem that I have to find a way to address: 1. Are you using the Mouthwatchers brushes that I recommend? You must get away from fear of brushing too hard. It's not true and you will not do damage by brushing - you will get rid of these stains! 2. Do you let your brushes dry for 24 hours between uses? Never soak them in anything or they will get too soft. 3. Are you brushing this area of your mouth where you are seeing the stains? Aim at these areas first, when you have the most toothpaste on your brush, and before you do the gum massage, etc - this is almost always superficial debris that just takes a bit more work to remove. 4. Are you using the system 2x daily? You will get staining if more plaque forms on teeth every 12 hours during the first months - before the oral bacteria have been balanced. In the future you may be able to skip a time or two - but not in the first months. 5. Do you stop eating and drinking completely - not even water - after the xylitol at the end of meals? This allows the new healthy protective biofilm to form, and it is this biofilm that will stop your teeth from accumulation of this debris. You may also want to have a Zellies mint last thing at night before sleeping. 6. This stain is not a health problem - just no one likes a dark stain. But it is superficial debris and will brush off; just use a bit more toothpaste and some more energy on these areas. 7. IF this extra energy and toothpaste trick is NOT ENOUGH to get rid of the stain - then you are going to make a special paste for yourself - Exfoliating paste: Mix together half a teaspoon of granular xylitol with a big squeeze of the Crest Cavity Protection toothpaste. Use this exfoliating toothpaste mixture - aim at the stains first thing every morning (not during the system.…but as you get out of bed in the morning). Just target these stains with this mixture of xylitol crystals + toothpaste. In 3-4 days the staining should have disappeared completely. Then you do not need to keep using this mixture; you can go back to the normal paste as a part of the system.”

Dr. Ellie, I am so sad I have only learned about you in the last few months! I have been dedicated to regular checkups and cleaning/flossing throughout my life. Even so, my mouth, although it looks great, is full of sealants, fillings, and 2 root canals. I had braces about 10 years ago, in which they left a back brace/splint on my front teeth at the end of treatment. So I lost one front tooth because of that, despite always "cleaning" it well. I wish the ortho had told me this was a potential. And of course on the front tooth, I didn't find out (despite always faithful 6 month checkups, until I realized my tooth was darkening and I questioned it). I am so mad about this bc I always insist my dentist explain my x-rays to me. So I feel it was known prior. I explained to my last dental assistant I was just starting your system and she said "oh yeah, I'm a big believer in xylitol." But she was unsure of the acidity of the mouthwashes and no flossing. I was thinking "oh gee, they know about xylitol and are not mentioning it?!" I explained the system and she said she was going to look you up. So these dental offices know about xylitol and are just not informing people! So thank you, thank you! I feel like I can finally gain the perfect oral health I always wanted and for which I thought I was paying! And finally be in control of my mouth instead of paying thousands to dentists for the rest of my life. I've used your system for about 2 months now, and wonder will the "stains" ever go away and will your system help potential cavities in progress that the dentists may have not mentioned yet?
@dr.elliephillips Жыл бұрын
Hello and I personally apologize for the way dentistry has treated you. Any motivated patient should receive the benefits of education to avoid all dental disease. I am delighted you found me and are using my system. It is possible that most of the staining, you are seeing can be brushed away, so I’d like to review your brushing technique, that you have two brushes and they are the resilient ones that I recommend. You might want to look at my video Oral Health bootcamp - on my website DrEllie.com. This bootcamp will also give us a way of communicating as you move forward. Cavities usually heal within 3 to 6 months on my system, and since cavities take 3 to 6 years to form …..this means that if you are using my system, you will be reversing cavities more quickly than they could possibly form. This is called dynamic prevention, and it is the way our body parts heal themselves. The bones of our skeleton break down and then replace themselves. Our muscles break down and then repair themselves. This process also occurs in the mouth naturally - but things we do, and the things dentistry does, often mess with this process. I’d suggest my bootcamp at DrEllie.com for you to gain lots of support moving forward. I’m here to help you!! 🦷👍😁😊

Yes can’t find those where I am. And from what I can tell brushing isn’t actually a big part of it. As long as you can get a generally medium-hard manual brush and brush along the gum line, that should do the trick
@SunrayStar Жыл бұрын
@@stellarprosperity Well, actually brushing is an extremely important part of it, even though it is just step #2 of several steps. The super-important part of it is to focus on spending most of the brushing time higher up on the gums ABOVE the teeth, not at the gum line, and then you can give the teeth a smaller brushing too when you're finished with the gum brushing. This gum brushing is really supposed to stimulate healing by bringing in more blood flow and circulation to the gums which will supply nutrients from the blood and carry out toxins. The right kind of toothbrush will do this much more thoroughly than an inferior toothbrush that can't give the right force.

Pubmed has a number of studies indicating that Cetylpyridinium Chloride, an ingredient in ACT Anticavity Fluoride Mouthwash, causes tooth staining for some people . That was certainly true in my case. Yet this may be something that does not impact many people. Fyi, I am vegan and I wonder if that might impact my oral biome in a way that allows the Cetylpyridinium Chloride to stain my teeth. Anyway that is totally speculation on my part. I think it's best to do ones own research. I am confident that Dr Phillips has helped many people with her mouthcare system for which I am thankful.

@user-fp8qe7if7u Жыл бұрын
I think she mentioned in one of her videos to do the best you can and throw the toothbrush away when you get home, and start the real regimen as soon as you get home. The TSA quart bag requirement for liquids does make following the process tough, even if you condense the liquids to travel size. I would at least bring some xylitol and the Crest. But hopefully she answers you. She mentioned the same after visiting the dentist if they are stripping (doing their normal cleaning) - start it up again when you get home.

From an old blog I found of Dr. Ellie's, she said: "When traveling, Zellies will help clean and protect your teeth after everything you eat or drink, and also when you cannot clean your teeth on a long trip. You also need a new toothbrush and Crest toothpaste. After brushing your teeth, add a little water to your mouth and make your own “mouth rinse” from the slurry left on your teeth after brushing. Swish this “rinse” around for one minute and then spit out. Zellies and a good toothpaste can protect you for a couple of weeks on a trip."

So thank you so much 🥰 I am learning so much. I have one question. Some websites about health and many articles talk about drinking more water to wash out bacteria from your mouth and to improve the saliva production. Does the amount of water we drink have an effect on the saliva production? I mean, I don't have to sip to all day to drink my 2-3Litres a day. But does e.g. a low water consumption effect my mouth health and maybe my breath? Thank you 🙂

People with fillings should use my Complete Mouth Care System to improve their enamel strength and then chewing will be safe for their teeth and their fillings. You can drink as much water as you want/need/ believe you need. Just don't sip on it. Choose a time that works for you and drink water - as much as you want to. Then have a Zellie mint and wait at least an hour or two - before eating or drinking again. That's all.....Some people just sip and sip and nibble and nibble all day - THAT is the problem because they thin their healing saliva to make it so weak it cannot heal their teeth.

I don’t have an exact answer. I do know that the use of the products specified in my system not only support extraordinary oral health, but develop a healthy biofilm and oral microbiome. I learned this when my Microbiome was tested - showing a wide diversity of bacteria that correspond with the diversity noted in healthy mouths. Others on my system - family members and others - showed similar results. In fact, my personal diversity was stunning to the DDS who tested my oral microbiome. This was possibly because I have not had a dental cleaning ( that I believe potentially disturbs a healthy Microbiome) in over 40 years. To answer your question you’d have to test the biofilm after using CPC for different periods of time.

Dear Dr. Ellie, I started using the complete mouth system for about 2 weeks. My teeth become less sensitive now. One quick question, the Listerine mouthwash is so strong, and it's burning my mouth, can I replace it with either Closys or ACT instead?

Don’t mess with the products. Instead learn how to use the system to develop healthy protective biofilm over your teeth. You can measure your progress with biofilm development. Follow the links on my website to the oral health video bootcamp. When you reach the “subscribe” button - there is no need to sign up. You can simply scroll down the page and be sure to watch video # 2. It is free to preview. You will learn exactly what to do to solve this problem and use the Listerine (full strength) to help you. No, you should not mix xylitol into anything because it will dilute the xylitol and then it won't work nearly as well by a long shot. Just put it in your mouth plain and keep it in there for 2-5 minutes each time. (One dose is 1 gram, which is 1/5 teaspoon of granules,)

Hello Dr. Ellie, I just found your channel. I really like it and hopefully I will be able to buy your products soon. I have a question here, I love my tea and snacks at least 2 times a day. I also like drinking tea or sipping it with a snack, but you mentioned not to drink anything in between meals. Do I need to stop drinking tea after a snack bite? Your help is appreciated. Thank you!
@SunrayStar4 ай бұрын
The problem isn't the tea itself; it's that you are frequently having snacks and drinking liquids between meals and likely keeping your mouth in an overall acidic condition, which damages the teeth. To start correcting this, you could begin using xylitol after every meal, snack or drink of liquid (even water) and then not eating or drinking anything else for at least 1 hour or longer. Xylitol will raise the acid pH to an alkaline pH and promote fresh mineral-filled saliva to the mouth, and then you can give the saliva long stretches of time (with no eating or drinking to dilute it) to begin healing the mouth and strengthening your teeth.
@WandaS-x2b4 ай бұрын

My sensitivity is going away and my mouth feels so clean I don't want to stop using the system. Try and see if cutting down the time will help

I hope Dr. Ellie responds to your inquiry. I am trying to get rid of a little stain I had before starting her program. Now I wonder if it will get worse.
@SunrayStar Жыл бұрын
She has said numerous times that none of her recommended products cause staining, and that the usual cause of staining after beginning her program is old dead plaque bacteria that people are not effectively brushing away. She says so many people are afraid to brush well enough and use enough pressure of the brush for fear of hurting their teeth or gums. She has given examples of people who began brushing with more force and then the staining gradually disappeared over a few days' or a week's time. Also, she said to make sure you are using the correct toothbrush brand she recommends and use two toothbrushes (one for AM and one for PM) to allow each toothbrush to air dry for 24 hours between uses so it doesn't become too soft. Here is more on that subject that Dr. Ellie has written elsewhere: "Teeth staining: “Good stains” are seen on teeth when dental disease has been rapidly controlled, when the remnants of thick plaque and harmful bacteria die off quickly.

Hi Dr Ellie, I’m wondering if there is a colon probiotic you could recommend? I have been on your complete mouth care system for a month now and have been shocked at the level of overall improvement in regards to my receding gum line and plaque buildup. I’m wondering, I have a k9 tooth on the upper jaw that has significant plaque buildup with a gum recession. Should I scrape at the plaque to get it off? I have noticed the gum around this tooth coming back slowly from recession over the last few weeks, but wondering if it would be helpful to get a scraper tool and do some DYI home care scraping of the plaque? Thank you for all that you share in this world. I love the Zelle’s mints and gum that you make. And am loving the complete mouth care system. Highly recommend anyone to sign up for your boot camp to oral health. It was very helpful. 🙏💙

The plaque/calculus should dissolve. Maybe use original formulation of Listerine as part of my Complete System. Ensure you rinse vigorously with this. I’d do this for at least 2-4 weeks before trying any “do-it-yourself” scraping. That should not be necessary. Also ensure you have the MOUTHWATCHERS toothbrushes I recommend and let them dry for 24 hours between uses. So one for morning and a different one for night. This ensures your brush is not too soft. Be sure to give the tooth and gums in this area a really good brush. Maybe brush first and then do it a second time as you work around your mouth. Last thing to try would be to have a couple or Zellie mints right before sleeping at night.

@awesomelife3710 Жыл бұрын
In one video, Dr. Ellie mentioned that you only need to chew Xylitol for five minutes because that is how long it takes for it to increase healing saliva production, which is how Xylitol works. I now dissolve two of her Zellie’s mints (1 gram) after meals or even after drinking water because even water disrupts the balance of healthy vs bad bacteria. The mints work by “pulling” saliva from the roof of the mouth, within five minutes. No need to chew gum if you don’t want to. The mints work just as well.
@SunrayStar Жыл бұрын
Too long is more than 15 minutes. She says to chew the gum for 2-5 minutes, but no more than 15 minutes, or your saliva will thin out and become different, which will then work against you.

Oops! One more question… What about these new expensive toothpastes on the market like Apagard from Japan and Livefresh that says it is 250% better at removing plaque? Hmmmm… Hype? Or… Would it be useful to add those into the routine somehow?
