I really like the first guy with the lions. He seems to know exactly what he's doing, and does it with great respect and responsibility.

I like Steve's energy and respect for living things. He knows boundaries and isn't on a power trip trying to control these animals. You can tell this isn't a "job". It's his passion and a way of living❤

@@LuvBorderColliesI used to work at the zoo in my area, we had a BEAUTIFUL Tiger that would roar every morning before we opened the zoo. I was about a 1 minute walk from his enclosure and could feel the vibrations in my chest when he roared! It was incredible!

There is nothing humane about keeping wild animals in small cages. They should be in sanctuaries (since they are domesticated).

If you want a pet and you willing take on that responsibly, go to an animal shelter and adopt a dog who needs a home. But, don't go to an exotic animal dealer and buy a wild animal to keep as a pet. This is because wild animals are not meant to be pets!

01:40:40 “what makes this dingo even more unusual is that the owner has fallen in love with it…” No, that doesn’t sound unusual at all. They’re canids, they’re dogs; of course a person could love one. I don’t see how that’s “unusual”

You can indeed keep native animals in Australia. Most reptiles with the correct licenses, several native birds and sugar gliders.

Scott & Suzannah keeping big cats as pets in small cages is a definite NO - and walking the cats on leash outside of fences is an awful idea (didn't see fencing other than long rows of cages? I could be wrong, but still unsafe). No way they can control those cats if the big cats decided to run away/attack something! I just got done watching a video of a woman who was walking her 2 pet pit bulls - the pit bulls saw a cat snoozing in a neighbor's driveway, lunged, pulled the lady along while they attacked (and possibly killed) the cat. And that tiger (@400 lbs?) weighs more than the 2 pit bulls combined (maybe 50 - 100 lbs ea). Sure, Scott is a man so bigger than the woman I speak of - but that tiger could outpower BOTH of them if it desired. These people have become complacent and delusional. Those cages at Scott and Suzannah's are way too small - even the lady who ran the sanctuary admitted she considered her cages too small - and those sanctuary cages are huge and luxurious compared to the tiny pens Scott & Suzannah have. Kudos to them for taking in from a couple private owners, where the conditions were probably much worse. But that is still not a solution. They're only 2 people, not clear if they're still working other jobs (so how much time do they really have to dedicate?) and they risk their cats getting away by walking them on leash. It's endangering the public. And Scott comparing taking away dangerous animals vs dangerous tools?! Wow. You really can't see why that's zero comparison and justification for keeping big cats, etc?!?! Just because you can feed, water and clean cages doesn’t make keeping large cats, etc in small pens ok. I think what's so astonishing is that they have so many of these animals for only 2 people trying to keep up. I'm not saying I agree - but if they only had 2 tigers and thus were able to supply a much bigger cage etc, it wouldnt be so bad.

Wrong on every level having an “exotic pet” animals should be allowed the freedom to live in their natural wild habitat WITHOUT the threat of humans

One way to beat the 6th extinction is for endangered species to become exotic pets, especially if its because their habitat is being wiped out. However it should only be done with animals that readily breed in captivity and those that don't should never be allowed a pets. It may take creating satellite populations in suitable areas to perpetuate various species. While Safari Parks might suffice ideally places where wild behavior can be maintained would be best. For example six species of deer are in Australia and allowing Barasingha, and Elds deer from Asia and Pampas Deer and Marsh deer could benefit those species. Overall numbers could be maintained and limited it just variety that would be increased. Satellite populations in different hemispheres would be especially import in the event of regional catastrophes like Cosmic strikes, super volcanoes and nuclear war should happen. Even a limited war between China and India or Pakistan and India could render many species extinct.

I agree with your comment for the most part. Species shouldn't be introduced to foreign ecosystems . Australia has suffered due to introduced species encroaching and changing ecosystems . Camels , rabbits, foxes, even cats and dogs have completely taken over and contributed to the decline of many Australian animals wallaby, hopping mice, bilby, kingfishers, wombats, quolls, bandicoots, betinongs many small marsupials. The Dingo bloodline on the mainland has been diluted mixed they are now considered wild dogs more so than true dingo's 😢 the pure bloodline being around 87percent are within zoos and captive facilities. Perhaps many more people will take up responsibility for their environment around them and governments will start building communities with the natural ecosystem in mind. Facilities for all species in their own country.

We are up against the 6th extinction and we need to think about translocating species and create satellite populations. While Safari Parks can suffice preferably reserves where wild behavior can be maintained. There are around 200, 000 in Australia and the populations could be reduced to 100,000 and still have enough for viable endangered deer populations.

I'm really appalled by what I am seeing towards the end of this video. If you see that man that has the tiger reticulated python, you'll notice that the poor snake doesn't have enough space to move, and neither does any of the other animals in that building. And spiders kept in tiny boxes! These animals are not supposed to be kept this way! They're supposed to live in the wild, FREE. Take them back to their home country and let them go!

Yeah, that last guy gives me super creepy vibes, and when he pulled that huge retic out of that tiny cage, my jaw just dropped. Some snakes really like small enclosures because it makes them feel safe, but others are much more athletic and need lots of room to move around. These types of pet stores make me really sad. I wish more people would start using reputable breeders who have excellent referrals. Or even better, rescue a reptile that is being sold on Craigs's List.
