I don't know if this would be cheating, but if you had one of your Sims commune with the island spirits when they come out, it helps their energy.

@@M00NDUSTZ It may be due to items blocking the path from your sim to the spirit. I played with the Island Living lot trait before, and sometimes the spirits would spawn close to a wall, and the game would read it as if the spirit was in the wall, not allowing my sim to complete the interaction. If they spawned near a toilet or sink, I could never get my sims to complete the interaction either, so it could just be due to all of the items on the lot. You just have to try it and hope for the best every time.

You can use the kitchen sink to wash hands and sometimes brush teeth to fix hygiene.
