Man, I can feel your frustration buddy! I always hear how hard and complicated it is to install cushcore. I see videos on other people installing it with ease, but I'm pretty sure the first time installing cushcore will be like the way you guys experienced it. I really don't see the benefit of cushcore let alone having to do that every year or so when the sealant dries out. It really seems very annoying and cumbersome and not worth all that headache! I am glad the you and Wolfman didn't give up and completed the mission. Wear that cushcore sticker with Honor! If I could I'd give you 100 👍. Take care fellas!

Fully mount the tire to stretch it out, pop the bead on one side and do the inserts

just a little better technique would help.... push the bead into that center channel, push the bead down into that zone where you pushed the tape into the dish. the bead/tire resting under the CC will create space on the opposite side of the tire to get the bead into the rim. practice will get you swapping out a DH tire in 20min. my first time, I failed and took it to a LBS. all my bikes now have CC. your my favorite show on KZbin

5:11 I bookmarked this brand, maybe I saw it on the channel before, but I forgot about it, but great they got hole at the bottom, this means you can easily unclog them without any sealant eating solvents, just poke a pick, hex key trough each end at the time. Don't even bother trying the Cush Core valves. My inserts came with them, but they were impossible to unclog. I got Stzy valves, they too have a hole at the bottom, hex key slot at the hole, but not as big holes on the side but the new design does, but the cap has valve core tool built into it.

Those screw on skewers are nice weight savings too. About 100g when replacing standard qr skewers. So about a 1/4 of a pound. Also I feel they are safer because you can really crank that bolt tight.

11:31 I agree with both of you. this is transitionally what you call purple, but there are different shades, like magenta which is closer to pink or in hex triplet: #FF00FF😝So if you want colour match, then you need to use the colour codes.😝 12:34 This is neat, sometimes valves loosen, especially if temps change rapidly, I've experienced loosening of valves before. But it has really been an issue, but happens sometimes, then it might leak slightly.

For me installing Stan's tape is more fatiguing than installing Cush Core. Cush Core is easy to put on with 30mm rims. Harder on 23mm but I can do it. But wire bead is torture. But You probably did not watch how to do it intentionally to make it more comedic.

10:38 You manged to get the tape to sit quite well despite not using a microfiber towel and thumb to massage the tape into place. doing what you did did not work for me, the tape refused to stick properly without bubbles, it made bubbles all over. Also I was not impressed by the quality tape, the cut of the tape, one roll had uneven bad edge, another roll had scrapes at the top of the tape. I had to use microfiber towel to get the tape to stick, I made it stick perfectly. I see you got it almost perfect, perfect almost everywhere apart from one spot at 10:44. I'm not sure how you managed that, I stretched the tape as much as I could.

13:45 How to not do it. Why do you overcomplicate it? there are plenty of videos on it already. Even Cush Core did a video on it. Hands should not hurt doing this at all. It should take few seconds to do each task, so maybe a minute or 2 maybe 3. Maybe 30 seconds if you really rush it. How to do it: start from the top, flip the wheel, put it on the ground then work your way up and pop the last bit with thumbs, takes just a few seconds. 14:46 You are also doing this wrong. Don't put it on the work bench, this makes the job harder, Instead you should lay it on the floor, align the logo, then use thumbs to pop the bead into place make sure to work it on both sides until it sits secure then you can continue doing the rest until you can't then you use the bead setter/tyre lever to push the bead into the centre of the rim. this too takes seconds, then you pop the last bit over the rim. Soapy water is not needed. Nor using multiple levers nor two people, nor a bucket or trash can. The trash can thing just makes you be able to stand and not have it too high up like you have on a bench, but still be able to stand, but I do it on the floor instead. 6:06 You need to install the insert first. Only way you can do what you attempted there is if it's already been installed, then you can reposition it, but then you risk it coming off completely, But depending on the rim you might be able to turn the insert while it's installed.
