Thanks for sharing. Harley use to sell a modulator for your headlight. This is one of the best things I have ever seen for motorcycles. I had a friend that had the headlight modulator and you would not believe how your eye is drawn to it when he is coming towards you even at a long distance. There is something about the light cycling on and off so fast that draws your eyes to it when approaching. It has a detector that shuts it off when the light level falls off in the evening for night riding. Probably one of the best safety features I have seen in my 50+ years of riding. Any comment would be appreciated.

I just found out on my 15 SGS that if you have the air wing led tour pak rack rear light or the air wing luggage rack led light you will get the flashing while the turn signal is on. I believe it is now the Center light "to the module" like your police bike has.. Although it isn't much of a an LED light it is better than nothing in my book. Thanks for the videos!

@@kevinb.3528 Probably but I don't know. My tour pack did not come with the wrap around "built in brake turn signals". The tour pack that was added onto the street glide special is the plane version. I had to add the rack and airing light.

Next mod is the strobe. I did the Hinz 3rd tail light and LED tail lights from Radianz...big improvement...but defiantly need the strobe. They say it may be illegal here in S.C. (South Carolina, not Socal...lol) but I asked some local Sheriffs Deputies and they said they don't bother the bikers who use the strobes as long as they can't be viewed from the front and they aren't blue...

Custom Dynamics does make a modulator that will work on incandescents and LEDs (MAGIC-STROBES-BCM) and it's a bit cheaper $59) than the LED only version, but I would agree, if your goal is to be seen, LEDs are for sure the best way to go. The BCM is a brake light-only modulator, and does not flash the turn signals/running lights. I have to say that it's kinda lame that on a $28,000 Ultra Limited , Harley cheaped out and didn't do LEDs on the break lights. If I understood the good folks at CD correctly, they explained that my turn signals are in my Tour Pak and they splits off before this modulator, so I would need a separate modulator for my running/turn signals.

We have something like this strobe in Germany too - friend of mine built it. If i would live in the United States, I would have it! By german law it's forbidden, flashing lights are only for police, firefighters and ambulance. But the spot lights in front are also forbidden, the by night the bike looks like an german train in the dark ;-), but if it helps you to rise your visibility, the law is second-rate...Greetings from Hamburg in germany, Meikthebike

Just a note to add.... some of the Custom Dynamics Miracle Strobes especially on the older bikes do NOT require you to change to LED. I have one on my 2001 Fatboy, that is designed to work with either. However the one on my 2016 SGS did require me to change the lights to LED. One thing to note. The faster flashing patterns such as the quad flash, and blaster X don't look as good with the incandescents so I use the slower flash patterns. Elements can't cycle as fast as LEDs so if you are looking for a reason to upgrade... this might be it. Flash patterns will be better than stock for safety, and you can keep that old school look.

I installed the Custom Dynamics Magic Strobe Brake Light Modulator on my 2018 Ultra Limited . I put this on the left side of the black plug on the rear fender. This let strobe work. when I turn on my signal.

I have both modulators for brake and tour pack. Even both of those flashing still almost had someone rearend me. Why you ask. Cause they were not paying attention. But alot of people stay back and i mean back. When they realize whats going on.

Hey installing this did it freak the security system out and cause issues? The reason I ask is I had the HD security system installed at a HD dealer and they didn't configure it correctly and I had no brake lights until I took it back and had them re flash it correctly.

Mine has a lag if I press it takes 1/2 second to start working so if I need to signal vehicle behind with a fast brake signal it will not turn the brake light at all... I installed red to power and white to tail any ideas? I'm using halogen bulb but instructions never said anything about not using normal lights

I hooked one of these up yesterday, my foot brake wouldn't run it but my hand brake would. I have LED on the back, could that be the problem? I took it back off and hit my brake pedal and it worked as normal.

I have one quick question I had Harley Davidson install the LED directionals in the front of the bike while It was at the shop for the thousand mile check up. I ordered these strobes as well and can't wait to install!...Question, I had to use a load equilizer from Biketronics to prevent the hyper flashing and will be installing on a 2013 SG. Do you know if this will mate with the equilizer to still allow for the strobe but still keep the hyperflashing from occurring? Thanks from a fellow LEO in MO!

Jim, I honestly don't know. I didn't have to use a load equalizer on my 2014. My initial thought is that is should work with the load equalizer. Please let us know what you find out. @@RyanUrlacher I just received the strobe modulator today and am happy to report that it worked with the equilizer on my 2013 SG! It was a bit stiff to install but a hard push on the clips got it seated and it works perfectly. The instructions say to put the strobe modulator towards the back closest to the brake line while the equilizer goes in front of the connection. I paired the strobe modulator up with the "SmartEquilizer" made by Biketronics and it was a true plug and play (and stuffing the modules and clips under the side plastic cover). I will say that the guy with Biketronics questioned me (via email) when I told him I was wanting to pair up their equilizer up with a strobe brake modulator and that I should think about what the other people behind me will see and what effect the strobes will have on them...my thoughts led me to think, "yes, that is exactly what I want from people behind me...TO SEE ME!!. Great videos...and I hope this helps out others.

Also forgot to mention...when mine arrived, it didn't have the 2 switches on the back side, just the knob to pick your setting.

I reset all the codes. But now I have a BCM code b2161 is it because I installed the magic strobe?. I can clear the code and I press the brake and the code comes back?.

Yah, likely. Sometimes those codes get thrown.

Should mention that most provinces if not all in Canada don't allow strobe brake lights. Any sports car with strobe brake lights like in Europe are not allowed in Canada. Some provinces may tolerate it or not enforce it. But brake light modulators that blinks 3 to 5 times and go steady seem to be left alone. Only emergency vehicles, school buses, peace officers, game warden etc are allowed flashing red lights. The law is out dated and needs to be brought up to today's technology. Better check with the law first.

I don't understand why bike manufacturers don't put led lights on their bikes more often. They are brighter and increase visibility. You would think they would put more emphasis in building safer bikes.

The death wobble controversy has been around for many years. Older HD's are known to wobble a bit during certain corners etc, but not a "death wobble" unless modifications were improperly made........there are a bunch of Attorneys and spam websites stirring the issue up again recently, but nothing has changed. To my knowledge HD has never lost a case in actual court on this matter.
