This time at Sally's Speed Shop we work on building the front and back walls of the shop to give our quonset hut our own custom touch! We ultimately saved money doing it this way and ended up with a much better looking building overall.

Shop looks incredible. I can't believe y'all were working at night (dark) with all those lights and no bugs (or no complains from y'all about them). I just assisted my brother up in northern South Dakota assembling one of these (June) and we attempted to work at night and the bugs were just terrible as they''d come to the light (which we had far away from us) and get trapped in the inside "ribbing" sections. And they'd attack eyes and ears (had a mask over my mouth/nose). Even fogging the area and Off applied they were relentless. Again glad you were able to make progress even in the dark. Those are some LONG days. Love the red neck ladder for the outside access (deer stand ladder modification). Keep up the excellent work and appreciate the updates to the shop progress.

@@SallysSpeedShop Straight from the heart... nothing more, nothing less! Love what you did with the "ends" of the Quonset... one of the best designs I've seen and I've downloaded 1,000s to help us with ideas (for our retirement home!). PS: don't be afraid to record EVERYTHING you do in your videos... if you're interested in more views and making more money. You'll be surprised at what people will watch. Look at Andrew Camarata.. he's done 100s of videos of just "basic" landscaping jobs with big construction rigs and his views are through the roof... and he hardly ever speaks! Have A Beer "On Me"... and buy Grandma a glass of wine please! ha! ha! and keep building unique projects! It's great that you can spend so much time with your Dad... enjoy every second you can! Its the little details that interest me. How the lights are attached. How you going to do the water connections. Air compressor lines. Those things that to you take to much time so you don't show. Well editing doesn't mean leaving it out. Love what you have done so far, really. Thanks. "But there's More"

Actually quite a few ways you could do that I will see the simplest way is the best. Fortunately I grew up in a construction family my parents had two construction companies general contractors which was nice cuz I worked for him on and off as a labor but as I grew up and got my first house I ever had questions or issues I did make a phone call and the right direction pretty quick. This is well before KZbin is established like it is now guarantee you can get online and find a lot of ways to doing it.
@SallysSpeedShop
@SallysSpeedShop 2 жыл бұрын
KZbin definitely helps, but there’s not a lot of information out there about building your own end walls on a Quonset hut. Luckily common sense goes a long way haha

@@SallysSpeedShop yes it does no I'm not familiar with your setup I worked on a smaller one that was actually surplus from world war II and more or less is kind of framed it in with wood I had a lot of custom cutting if it everything and then from there slap up your plywood or however you plan on doing the end walls. The one I worked on the guy had a whole bunch of windows this week frame the perimeter using steel brackets that would bolt to the wood and then able to stick frame it and set it up for all the windows to go in. Obviously you guys have lots of common Sense it's great to see you and your dad out there working together I wish I had that relationship with my father you're very lucky man thank you for all the hard work you put into your channel when I seen you back way back in the day at Finnegan's garage working with him and on your car I knew them you were going to have going KZbin channels just matter of when and it's an awesome channel tell everybody my friends who watch car content to check out Sally's speed shop it would be really happy and fascinated with all the stuff he does a lot of shenanigans you can tell you guys generally are just having a good time and recording it putting it up for us thank you
