23 minutes and 45 seconds that every single golfer needs to watch!! Ian and matty, you've done it again... amazing video and I'm so glad it's you guys putting out this information

I just wish more places would do something like this. If I go to a golf store and not look at the brand-new equipment (anything on sale) there's no chance I get any kind of fitting experience. I sure am glad I'm on the Mississauga TXG waiting list...can't wait. Great video.

I had M2 with stock shaft which always pushed right. After watching TXG (Not this video) decided shaft was problem, obviously leaving face open. Tested some new drivers made massive difference, Titleist with custom shaft worked amazing well but not for AUD 1500 for new driver and tour shaft. M2 is not that old and I'm not that good. Instead had Adila rogue 75-x installed for AUD 200 now M2 flys straight and I swing with confidence. Don't need to spend silly money, just some time experimenting at store. Wasn't a custom fit. Thanks TXG. Great video.

Pretty simple, they don't (and I sure hope they never do) chase subscribers with constant giveaways for clubs, bags, shoes, rangefinders etc like the MAJORITY of the so-called bigger channels. One of your best videos yet...absolutely amazed with the results! Super practical and informative advice to every golfer. I never thought about just changing the shaft and using my older head as a potential option - it won't happen every time, but you could walk out with a super good a driver and save a good 400-500 bucks in a head and shaft combo (potentially double or more of your budget).
@rufussthoo40834 жыл бұрын
Yeah. What they (below) said. This was a really worthwhile test. It shows you could take an older head that you really like and for half the cost of a new club, get one that is nearly as effective. The only qualification is the consistency of strike. The one true advantage the newer clubs have is in their forgiveness for us mugs that can't hit center twice in a row. More of this type of exploration would be well received. Thanks again guys.

Very interesting test, it actually lines up with a lot of things we have seen in terms of what does and does not work for Matt. These older Callaway drivers were pretty high CG, even with the core down. The G410 LST that Matt played was also in the mid/high CG range and I imagine given the shape that his new Mavrik is similar. His tendency to strike higher and struggle with spin getting too low lines up with these mid to high CG drivers and explains why his biggest struggles have come from very low CG drivers like the TS3/TS4.

@jonathansmith97054 жыл бұрын
So many combinations or options! I'm using a driver much older than that one. I'm sold on being fitted at some point (you've done a superb job demonstrating the benefits of doing so), but still think I'd benefit more greatly at present by focusing on the fundamentals of a good swing. No amount of technology would offset an inconsistent, poorly struck ball. Matty is most often in the zone, so it makes sense. Doing cost-benefit analyses over time using handicaps and/or historical scores would be interesting. I have a much greater appreciation for the skills of Jones, Hogan, Player, Nicklaus, Watson, etc., since they were playing with heavier, much smaller bladed irons, and heavier, non-FM shafts yet still killed it! Says something.
@devanmacdonald89244 жыл бұрын
Great video guys! I think a lot of golfers that are particular about their equipment will benefit from this. Traditional head shapes and clean look are hard to come by in modern equipment. Because of this issue many solid players with low single digit handicaps or better have been doing this over the last 5-10 years. You look at Adam Scott for example who has played his 910 D3 driver in multiple tournaments within the last two seasons. Great content.

Great stuff as alway! Hearing this made me feel even more comfortable able getting fitted. I got fitted here in MN over the winter and felt I was taken advantage of. Because I did this backwards. Bought clubs and then ask to have them fitted at a different location. Rookie mistake! All they wanted was for me to trade in my brand new irons. I ended up buying a new shaft for my driver. Pured, shortened.... hate it, lost 25+ yards. Waiting for Canada/US to open the border!!

Funny you talk about price w/fitting. i was fitted around the holidays for a TPT 16 LKP, but the price was so astronomical I didn't pull the trigger. I've been searching for a comparable shaft ever since. It's hard to do when you're fitted into a shaft that no one carries...

This was such a great video! Goes to show that an older piece of equipment doesn’t necessarily have to be replaced just because it’s older. Example: let’s say I get fitted for a TS3 today by Ian Frasier! As I live in California the odds of that happening any time soon are quite remote, I know. But I digress! Continuing...assuming I don’t have any major life changes or swing changes, the odds are that driver would still work just fine for me 5 years from now. Perhaps an 8.5 out of 10 compared to the new stuff of 2025? All that goes out the window if you aren’t custom fit though, as we saw in this video! Thanks guys! I learned something today!
