You also shouldnt use corrugated cardboard (you will notice they never do on Binky) cos when it bends one side gets shorter. Its REALLY hard to get reliable precision

Watch Project Binky on Bad Obsession Motorsport. The amount of hand designed and fabricated parts on that thing, and the precision with which they make them, is astonishing. I'd put him and his hand fab against even Chairslayer anyday. Pretty sure Chairslayer would say the same (there is no way they arent watching Binky).

I used to operate a plasma and torch burn table 10x60 foot for a oil rig manufacturer. When pipe fitters and welders showed up with a cardboard and tape template made my life a whole lot easier, instead of some dirty piece of paper with some scribbles on it. Love the builds you Hoonigans create. Keep it up please !

I think after this "Second Gen Tuk Tuk" Hurt and Vargas need to build a 4-Rotor for all the "Pissed Off Dorito" people out there. I know there is a lot involved and a little mistake can ruin the whole engine that's why a step by step how to would be great. Hell, Twitch live stream would work too.

Honestly, Garage Garage is fun so fun to watch because I have no fabricating experience, but have always been curious about how people can create a franken-car like this. Please keep the Project Car content coming! I'd especially like to see more a more detailed discussion/thought process of how Dan chose a location for the motor/tranny and subframe mounts - what do you have to do to compensate for reduced chassis rigidity from removing the stock cross-member; does the fabricated piece do enough on its own? I like this build, because I'm having similar problems with the transmission on my T-bucket build. Gotta be an automatic, I don't even have room for a floor mounted dimmer switch between the trans tunnel and the body, much less a clutch pedal.

That motor mount might be really nice if it was cut from angle iron to stiffen it and maybe even lay on top of the "frame rail". The cross member seems like it will be very flexible. My first thought was billet oil pan with suspension mounts but that's a bit extreme. If you get the motor mount to provide some stiffness (angle iron) and add some tube and gusset to the cross member design then it might not pretzel on you.

When you guys draw you’re brackets in cad try making break cuts in it by leaving quarter inch on either side of where you want a bend and have a cut in the center

Hey I noticed you used an angle grinder for relief cuts in your mount. I’ve seen a similar thing done, but they used the CBC plasma to slot where the bends go. Then just filled the slots with weld afterwards. It looks good and provides a bevel to fill with weld. Just an idea.
