JT has a knuckle neck but I'm not a big fan of them so decided to go simple.

Amazing weld repair especially considering how bad the first weld was! Simply amazing work, keep up the good work!
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I definitely learned my lesson with getting work done by cheaply priced self proclaimed professionals. Will definitely stick to the big names out there.

I also have a 5.5. Do I need to take off the bottom plate before soaking in Acetone? I’m only wanting to change the colors everywhere but the top line.
@igolf90611 ай бұрын
If you're just changing the paint I wouldn't soak it at all. You're also loosening up all of the adhesive inside the putter. I would go get a gel type paint remover and do it that way.

Hi! What type of finish does the shaft has?
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
This particular shaft was finished with Cerakote.

What solution do you use to clean things up after you've applied paint? I stamp and paint fill my own wedges (often multiple colors) and have issues with paint smearing using pure acetone. Do you use a diluted solution? Seems to work very well for you. Appreciate any help / feedback in advance! Just finding and enjoying your channel.
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
It's acetone. You SHOULD wait for it to be completely dry. But also, you can't soak whatever you're using to wipe it. Just a little damp piece of paper towel, and don't push down hard. That way it only gets the outside of the stamps.

Stunning man! You really know how to make a OTR look like a CT!
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! That's what I try to do. With the help of Ohare of course. A good way to to save $1000s on a CT for a similar look! In the future may be doing some of the custom work myself.

Hello! Enjoying your channel! I wondered if you knew, would O'Hare be able to mill a specified cavity in the face of a 303 ss putter for an insert? I have kne I love but just needs to lose weight and I have a lightweight material for the inserts I like to use.
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
I don't think he would offer that but you could ask. If you want a particular shape it's probably going to be pretty costly.

Where did you find the black .390 shaft?!

Trade secret 😎
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
Nah. Got it from Siege Putters. But I will be working on blacking out my own shafts soon.
@kriswoodley8786 Жыл бұрын
That was the only place I could find them as well. How is the quality of it?
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
@Kris Woodley Honestly. Because they sell those odd sizes and offer any color practically for cheap I'll still buy from them, but the quality could be better I think. My first one I had my putter sitting up against my work bench and it fell over and the middle of the shaft hit a plastic box and it scratched it down to the metal. 🤷♂️
@kriswoodley8786 Жыл бұрын
I've been hesitant to buy not knowing the quality. I appreciate your feedback. Being the only option out there really that's a reasonable price, I may just pull the trigger. Thanks. Amazing work you're doing too. It's a lot of fun to watch the process.

Another great looking Putter right there. Whats the stuff you put down just before the paint fill to give it the shine look?
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
Isopropyl alcohol. A thin film of that in all the Dots let's the paint flow nicely, and keeps it glossy and bubble free

What was the point of weld marks?
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
Cosmetics. A lot of Tour putters have custom welded hosels.
@ToraxReborn Жыл бұрын
@igolf906 yea, as a former tour player myself I get that, but we'd want stock if we could 😄 as it's a lot cleaner.
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
@ToraxReborn You should take a look at all the newer high end Tour Scotties. A ton of them have welded hosels. And people like what they like so 🤷

@igolf906 yeah I got a welded odyssey as at the time they didn't offer a full offset option with one of the heads.. had to get it welded from Japan.. haha I suppose ur right with what people want 😅

What was wrong with the original hosel?
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
Nothing was wrong. But to give it more of a custom "Tour" style look, I thought to add a weld to the hosel as almost all CT putters have.

Another killer job man. 👍 So why didn't you have O'Hare do the welding on the neck? I saw what a great job they did on your other scotty.

as nice as your work is,i have a problem with people making fake CT's, thats all
@igolf906 Жыл бұрын
Being there isn't a CT logo on it, it's not going to pass as a fake. That's not the purpose here. I just love the style of most CTs and this is a cool, affordable way to have that look, without spending $1000s.
