Custom Vintage Wheels for Muscle Cars - The Mustang gets ET Mags and BFG Tires!

Check out the new rims and tires for the 1973 Mustang project!
The rims are from Team III Wheels and are called the LT-III (check out the link at the top of the description).
You may remember in a past video here on the Autoedit you tube channel when I measured the backspace for these wheels. Well...NAILED IT!
The footprint is really great on this car and the vintage look and the modern size of the ET - Wheels creates the perfect balance of awesome retro styling AND the ability to put high performance tires on.
Speaking of tires, I went with the brand new BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S model for the Mustang. This is a new tire that has strong performance characteristics but is also completely practical for daily use and all season driving. During the rest of the build and the dial in on the suspension of Ol' Large Marge...these tires are the perfect solution. Plus, as performance oriented tires go, they are really affordable.
The only downside at this point is the 275 rear width is as large as it gets for the 18". I believe that rear rim would look even better with a 285 section tire, so we'll see next year when we hit the track how these tires do!

I like those wheels on that Stang! Had a 73 back in H.S. with a 302 and a 3sp. No where near as nice as yours but I loved that car!

it's very hard to picture a nice set of wheels that can fit the style in this platform. you nailed it with the offsets and height looks fine. another inch drop would had just killed it.

😮 i had a set of 15x9's in the 90's that had the exact same 8 spokes but the center cap covered the lugs and had a big plastic nut with Carol Shelby written on them. They were a 6 lug pattern i put them on a Nissan pickup. Never seen another set exactly like them.

It seems the car is a cross between a 2 Door Ford Torino and a 2 Door Ford Capri. @5:32, you can see the Torino from pillar A including the door and most of the rear quarter panel and the Capri from pillar A including the front fender with the headlight and grill stance. Beautiful car man, I love it, just wish it was another colour other than black/charcoal... :)

Yes, there's plenty of room to fit a 305 but that was the largest size they had in that particular tire at the time.

Hi Jason, I took your advice and used copper/nickel fuel and brake lines. Thanks. I have a question though about how you got a 14" Pro+ 6P Wilwood into a 17" wheel. A 13" Pro+ 6P Wilwood brake iWILL NOT fit in a 17" wheel from my research. I have the Wilwood template and I've done the math. Could you clarify what Wilwood brake system your using and how they fit in a 17" wheel? Thanks.

Nope. For me styling of ralley Mustang wheels are much better, and I would just pick whatever Ford Ralley I liked best regardless of era wheel. I say this without regards to being correct or traditional but rather good ol' looks
