In the Dumpster Business? Give Docket a Try Today! www.yourdocket.com/rollingops/
Will I Regret This Customer?
I sure hope not. We aren't just in the dumpster business hustle, but also the mobile storage business as well!
I had this customer who wanted to rent a container, but he straight up told me that he was planning to break one of my rules.
Now, normally, I wouldn't be cool with that, but I decided to make an exception this time. You know, sometimes you gotta take a little risk for that revenue. 💸 But deep down, I couldn't help but worry if I would regret it later. But with an exit plan and contract in place, I am hopeful for the best. It helps to know I've been paid in advance with a card on auto pay.
But hey, life's all about those unexpected twists and turns, right? Who knows, maybe this exception will turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Fingers crossed that it all works out in the end! 🤞
Let me know if I made a mistake loading up this container and hauling it over to this customer!

The easiest way to do the bumper part is just do it like your trailer. But also think about look at rollbacks the only thing they kind of got for a back bumper is their stinger. And for the shipping containers I know you probably looked but they do make some pretty easy transportation setups without even needing to put them on a trailer. They got some pretty neat stuff. Hope you had a good Christmas and Happy New Year

If your container jumps the rails turn your pickup the opposite direction and your trailer will line up. Gotta leave the front of the container resting on the trailer and the back on the ground tho

i like your video's but i think it is insane how you use vehicles and trailers like that! in new zealand we use cabover trucks with a hiab crane we can get into tight spaces and swing the containers in to place like say a skip bin or a container over a fence. I used to have a cabover tilt slide deck truck with a winch and hiab crane which also towed a trailer so i could deliver 2 containers or several bins at once.
@rollingops

Interesting! you're seeing my videos in New Zealand?? I know what you mean. What are your "state" or federal laws on operating trucks over a certain gross vehicle weight? Or are there any specific rules. Are you regulated by a police force of sorts, like we are, the equivalent of our DOT?
@phil-bay-of-plenty-nz
@phil-bay-of-plenty-nz 6 ай бұрын
@@rollingops we have weight limits per axle and have a 44 metric tonne weight limit for truck and trailer without needing a special permit, with a permit then nominally can go to 60 metric tonne and any higher than that will require a special permit and you can carry up to 100;s of tonnes. .I like you and your drive and way you present yourself and your business, often in business margins between companies is so small that the only point of difference is the level of service and presentation so i think you will compare favourably against competetitors thanks to you efforts.

Any way to buy future shipping containers with wheels that match your dumpsters so you use sale trailer? Also what are those pants you wear off Amazon? I remember you talking about them in a video showing tools or items you carry on all delivery's. Thanks
@rollingops
@rollingops 6 ай бұрын
I'm not sure I understand the first part. If we put wheels on the containers, it's really only for moving them around during placement, I don't think they are road worthy. But it would be nice to have matching containers to my dumpsters!
@rollingops
@rollingops 6 ай бұрын
But the pants are called Outdoor Wet-Tex. Some people may give you some grief for how the look. But I freaking love these, and I know Keegan agrees. Perfect for the Midwest because I swear they are comfortable in 70 degrees and -10. They are durable enough as well. Especially for the price. www.amazon.com/BenBoy-Outdoor-Lightweight-Waterproof-Climbing/dp/B0834YHYKH/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=29J18AM5QJABF&keywords=wettex%2Bpants&qid=1703770014&sprefix=wet%2Btex%2Caps%2C788&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1

@@rollingops no I don't mean transport wheels, basically cut the bottom off your dumpster and attach to bottom of shipping container lol not actually but to explain it differently. So you could drop off a dumpster and pick up shipping container with same trailer. Maybe in just over thinking it

Instead of buying shipping containers. Couldn't you just buy flat decks for the roll offs and build walls and a roof for it. Might be easier than buying shipping containers and then trying to adapt them to fit on roll offs.

could you just turn your truck wheels to the left and inch forward until the container is straight again?
@williambuehler2533
@williambuehler2533 3 ай бұрын
You would actually be able to do it either direction and even more so if the winch was on the truck vs the trailer. However with the winch on the trailer, this only works so long as the load is on the ground enough to have resistance. I would say get a snatch block put it on the cable and chain to the side you need the front to go towards. This way you're not going back and forth on the ground, or getting any swing marks on the customers lot. Depending where and how the customer has it set.
@austinanson8357
@austinanson8357 6 ай бұрын
So I’m a mobile repair welder. I always just have the customer put a could have lights on in the storage container and check the outside out when it’s dark out, kinda the reverse on how your doing it. Also you could just stretch the frame on your dump truck, I’d be watching rear end placement on that dump truck

I'm not sure you can tell as well in this video, but there are 2 twists in each strap. It prevents them from smacking in the wind on these containers. But I'll be honest, it's nice to know what the red stitching is for, because I never did.
