My q50 was purchased new. I think out the door I paid 56k, 3 years later it was worth 19k and dropping. Fully agree with Scotty in car not holding its resale value. The one in the video here I think held up much better than mine. 3 years later and 50k I had a squealing ac compressor. They had had to do a gap adjustment (whatever that means). Still didn’t fix it. They changed belts and it still didn’t fix it. And inside the quality didn’t hold up well the areas held together by double tape where all coming apart. Blend door actuator broke. Infotainment full of problems. That’s when I ditched it for my current car. To me my q50 just felt like an over priced Altima.
@phillipjames4532 жыл бұрын
I would have bought a Toyota Camry instead in order to save money on the front end and avoid those problems towards the back end. One would probably still be driving the Camry as one's current car based on Toyota's reputation for reliability.
@leosthrivwithautism2 жыл бұрын
@@phillipjames453 believe it or not I looked at that car before I got the Infiniti. The problem I had was that Toyota financing didn’t want to approve me on the deal we put together. They instead said they would approve something with much higher interest and putting the car near the price I paid for the Infiniti. I was in a bad spot where I was rolling two cars with negative on each. The price they offered was for a Lexus level and if it was a Lexus I would of taken it. But not for a Toyota. Infiniti took in my cars in my current condition at the time and was able to offer discounts based on the fact that I used to be a Nissan owner in the past with great track record with them. So yes the price wasn’t great but it wasn’t too far off what would be reasonable for Infiniti. So I pulled the trigger. But after owning the brand considering the treatment etc and product quality it’s why I ditched it. But I actually agree with you. The Camry isn’t a bad car at all I liked it. It just ended up being a situational problem for myself at the time. 👍

I’ve turned off Lane Watch on my ‘15 Accord because it makes me crazy. If I get anywhere near the lane markers it goes off. Even the collision avoidance alarm annoys me because it gets fooled by any signage placed in the center medians. I’m also not sure the back up camera works right. When I’m backing out of a space, dumb people still proceed to walk past the car when it’s in motion. Shouldn’t it send out an electrical force field to keep them away?😏
@northdakotaham17522 жыл бұрын
Probably need to change to "this is your last warning mode". Robotic voice emits from a speaker in your rear bumper "hey stupid! I am backing up here!" 😆

@@thomaspeacock7248 so they will get their wish? They will have succeeded! Lol! Maybe manufacturers will design a hinged rear bumper. One that senses pedestrians walking behind your vehicle and swings out, swats them out of the way! Could be a friendly voice coming from the rear speaker, speaking in a dialect of your choosing that says "excuse me!" Mustn't be rude of course! I think I would prefer a woman's voice with an Australian accent.

The more complex a car is the more things that can and will go bad eventually. I agree, those low profile tires are foolish. Even without potholes there are curbs railroad tracks, road debris. You are going to regret it, for what? Looks? More expense? ROI.

Ahh Scotty you picked a q50...that 3.7 engine is a bulletproof engine perfected from Nissan....yes there will be a few issues with tech like any other car but the trans and engine on this car are solid.

I bought a 1 year old 2015 Infiniti Q50 3.7 V6 for $24,500 (27k miles) brand new it was 45k. Depreciation is crazy on those of new but used it is an excellent value. I have had no problems at all and I put it trough its paces. 2015 was the best year for Q50. Avoid the 2016+ Q50 due to its problematic twin turbo engine.

Ive had 2 infinitis with the same engine. My last one (m35) reached 280k. It was burning oil and i would still beat the crap out of it. I beat the crap out of it a little too hard on the freeway before i added more oil and ended up with nasty engine knock. If it werent for the way i drove that thing, im sure it would have lasted much longer.

About the only "assisted" driving feature that I leave turned on is blind spot monitoring (which in Toyotas--at least the Camry's) it doesn't beep or make noise) and the adaptive cruise control. I've since turned off the lane departure warning system, as it's annoying. Of course some you can't turn off like the preventative collision systems but those only come on if you're going to hit something.

I guess my dad was a lucky one, he bought a used 2008 M45 back in ‘12 and the only major repair it needed were the cats (we’re in Cali) and he kept it until march of 2021 when he got into a very minor fender bender and the insurance claimed it a total loss. I believe he had 184,000 miles on the car and was still going strong. He then got a 2017 Qx60. My parents love Infiniti haha

Scotty, the winters have nothing to do with potholes in the northeast states. Canada has worse winters but great roads. It's a due to crappy road construction by unionized contractors using subpar materials.
@jelias9992 жыл бұрын
The plows destroy the roads in winter honestly they fix the potholes right before winter then plow it right back off. I have low pros on the scion tc and yes it does suck on these roads for the potholes nothing to absorb the bump really. Thankfully I haven't popped any yet due to it.
