I've been running Smittybilt skin magnets for about a year and it has saved my paint job from getting pinstripes. I have driven with them on from San Diego to St. George, UT and they stayed on. It's a good investment overall. One thing that you forgot to mention is you must have your jeep spotless prior to putting your skins on. If you decide to slap the skins on with some dirt on your Jeep, you will damage your paint job. It's like having a sandpaper on your Jeep while you are out on the trail. Also, I usually don't add the small strip that goes on the rocker panel. It falls off easily.

Some things to be aware of with the magnets. Definitely a nice-looking product and something you pay for, because it is well manufactured. There are some caveats with magnets on metal. If direct sunlight hits them for a long time and you don't remove them you can actually start to melt the magnet onto your metal. Also it is always a good idea to remove them periodically and clean the metal surface and the back of the magnet again. Nice presentation.

The TrailRecon graphics look awesome on your Jeep! I hope that they come up with a few more out of the box options because I'm not in love with any of the current ones. That really looks nice with your logo etc on your Jeep. Looks very nice. Thanks for sharing. I think this company will do well. There is not a lot of options for the magnetic protection and this one being customizable is going to make it that much nicer for folks to customize their vehicle at a fairly decent cost. Thanks again for sharing and have a blessed week. Quick question, there was a bunch of circles on the magnet with your logo or something on them, where do all the circles go, are the fridge magnets or what was all the extra circles for? Thanks again. Dale

These look cool though... 10 years in the sign company says you missed something very important. Cleanliness is next to holiness with these things. If you put magnets and if your car and the magnet are not clean and dust free you'll be fine BUT if not those trapped particulates will damage the finish on your car faster than fine sand paper. Keep up the good work.
@TrailRecon6 жыл бұрын
You are very correct! Here is from their website regarding cleaning: Remove Jeep Armor magnetic panels daily and after each use, especially after harsh weather or temperature exposure. Clean with a gentle soap and water, do not use harsh detergents or rough surface scrubbers. Allow both sides of the Jeep Armor magnetic panel to air dry before reapplying to a clean and dry Jeep exterior.
