It was hilarious to suggest that you get a small tree so that Oliver is bigger than the tree! And it was funny to see Oliver running down the rows, pulling his Dads along with him, defeating the purpose of viewing the trees! Best friend you'll ever have in this life. When my beagle had to be put down, it was excruciating. I feel bad for anyone that owns one, because the indescribable love and joy they give you is directly related to sadnes beyond words. 14 years later, and I'm still not completely over it.

I loved to see the special day picking the tree and Oliver's involvement in the whole thing. I recall last December Oliver helped to pick the tree at the tree farm and he met a lovely dog that almost became like his best friend. They became real pals at the tree farm.

This really brings back memories. My girlfriend in high school parents had a Christmas tree sale in the the town i grew up in that was a family tradition. We used get up int middle of the night and drive to Pennsylvania with a stakebed truck and trailer to harvest Christmas tree for the sale. Then we would set up trees and light strings in their lot next to the house that looked just like the one in The Christmas Story.
