H.O.T is considered the first kpop idol group because they were in sm and went through the training to become kpop celebrities. I think what they were getting at was that H.O.T was the first kpop idol group.

@@nulyrolg Alright let's be honest, kpop can be traced back to like the 60's. So yes; Seo Taiji was kpop, however they were not an idol group. I'm pretty sure Seo Taiji would argue that himself! No , what we know as kpop today came out of what Lee Soo Man and the SM label did back in the mid to late 90's. That was combine Western style and sound mix it with Japanese idol culture(which has been around since like the 70's) and then infuse it all with Korean ingenuity and style. Look let's be honest, I love kpop but they didn't re-invent the wheel. They stood on the back of giants and put a new and fresh spin on it.

Not only does this MV and song do a great job of remaking the original legend, they have cute little visual references to their previous MVs in it and the teaser photos (Phone and emojis like Glitch mode, re-made set from Hello Future, Boom w/ black and white outfits in front of yellow background, little heads sticking out like in My First and Last. It's truly adorable and what makes it work is that they are all clearly going for it and having a great time

I think the SM team made a great decision by giving this song to the Dreamies, it becomes nostalgic even for those who didn't live through the H.O.T era, as it reminds so much of the kind of concept they did when they were younger. I almost cried the first time I saw the mv, all I could think about was the Chewing Gum era 🥺😥

At first I was really confused with this MV and the reason they were happily singing about breaking up. By the chorus I realized that it’s like a continuation from Glitch Mode (MV about a person who doesn’t show up for their date). At least that’s my theory. Btw, I can’t hear the chorus of this song and watch the choreography without being reminded of HYBE’s Game Cateres scene when Yunjin (Le Sserafim) danced the choreo of this song and suddenly it turned into Fearless. Hilarious! 😂

Apparently, the lyrics are about "breaking up" and moving on to the next step with their partner a.k.a marriage, but the translations are making it sound a bit red flag-ish. 😅 I read that the "I compared you to other girls" is because no other girl is good enough in their eyes cause their girl is more perfect than anyone. And if that really is the meaning of it, then it explains all the smiles 😂 The MV is so cute and it appears that the filming team is the same one that did Hello Future with them, so all the colours and cute vibes make sense.

It's not about breaking up to marriage, it's more about his insecurities that he doesn't deserve her, cause you see in the lyrics about wanting to be better, break up for her, he walks behind her and how all the first lyrics is about all the breaking up thought without making her feel bad. Then he meets her and realise that he loves her, all that thought doesn't compare to how much he' loves her forever and be better for her. It's on the chorus that upon meeting her, all that he can say is I love you and he forget everything he had thought/planned.

H.O.T. was the very first idol group. Without H.O.T., Kpop would look very different, if it even existed at all. The song was released in 1996, so it's older than all the members. Kangta, one of the members of H.O.T., is still active and recording for SM. I was low-key disappointed that he didn't make a cameo, tbh.
