In regards of shows, the idea of having the top 5-6 compete in at least one show (even though theyre qualified) would bring more excitement. Add that with having less shows and giving the top 2 qualifications on higher tier shows like arnold/chicago/new york etc. Imagine 3rd place from the olympia places 2nd or 3rd at a lower tier show. Forces athletes to stay in shape and gives more excitement to everything overall. More “stories”, “rivalries”, “comebacks”.

Ronnie's rivals were closer to him because they were better than Phil's competitors. And that is what makes Ronnie the number 1 because he won against much better bodybuilders. And this is coming from someone who prefers Phil's physique but you cannot deny that. Great discussion guys I loved it!
@dextergarner1286
@dextergarner1286 Жыл бұрын
Phil’s training and genetics just completely outdistanced his competitors. Even Kai. Had he dialed it back for the sake of his waistline and muscle clarity, and not engage with online, I think he could have a record 9 Sandows. Rhoden was good and when he won he was great, but it’s not like he blew Phil out of the water. Had Kai competed that year he would have been in the mix because Phil repeated what Ronnie did in terms of size and it caught up to him.

I would like to see bodybuilding federations create a league points system for the year that counts towards competing in the showcase of the year event like The Olympia, Universe etc.. That validates all other competitions leading up to the showcase events. This would ensure that not only would there be less Pro Cards being distributed yearly, but would ensure that each contest is filled with competitors of quality and familiarity to the fan base. If this where to happen, then it would be a collective effort of all promoters, sponsors and events to work closely to build up not only exposure for contests, but also competitors and create a tier system for prize money to be pooled towards bigger rewards throughout the season. In the long term of professional bodybuilding, this will create a stable franchise of steady consistent growth annually, on all fronts - competitor, contest and earning wise.

I think not only Milos Sarcev, but also Dorian Yates’s log books (any really, that have similar professional attitudes towards quantifying progress), would be the best insight(s) into the levels a disciplined bodybuilder goes to, to measure successes in great detail.

Amen to that, Jay Cutler is the men,and was the man to beat 30 years ago. And now he is still the men, he is in great cheap, 30 years later now 50 years old and still going strong, and still humble and a really nice men. And works every day since he was young, to make hiss brand bigger. But how can train as nobody els, the true king off real hard training, and is now again in a insane good shape, its great to see the greatest and biggest bodybuilder off all time. Still going strong, its mad, still the honger off succes, and the honger to eat 6 times a day, and train 2 times a day and 7 days a week, a hole week off training every day, eating the hole week, for one cause be the biggest and best again after 30 years. Wheee does the money come from? - Matt
@milossarcev7538
@milossarcev7538 Жыл бұрын
Higher prize money MUST be requested by Federation. Over 35 years of ignoring this important fact and looking away,not facing the problem will get us nowhere. In life we always have to do THE RIGHT THING …and all of us know what that is here… Minimum wages in all the States dramatically increased in all the states. Try to find any service (and I do mean any 🤫) and compare the prices from 35 years ago and now. Well, service of pro bodybuilders making a show possible for a promoters to make money promoting the show - still cost the same 😒. And that will continue indefinitely as it seems….
@holdtightbrizzle
@holdtightbrizzle Жыл бұрын
I am not sure on where the money would come from, without digging into the ecosystem more. However, I have worked in sports for 15+ years and typically prize money is the carrot we use to get more participants. We also look at the schedule, number of points won (if points system), obligations to the federations, obligations to partners, associated brands, media opportunities, exposure, likelyhood of placing well, ease of access, communicating with the potential participants and so on. Or just tempt Saudi Arabia to buy the sport, like golf ;)

I think the point about competing frequently is that your showing the Judges you are hungry, and want to move up. And bodybuilding conditioning is a art and you get better and learn your art. Like Milos, didn't he become the best trainer/coach advisor in bodybuilding today? And he got that way by know not only how his body reacted but how others reacted. And I believe he got that way by competing frequently or it was a large part of it.

I think the problem with bodybuilders passing away is very much close to the high carbs consumption. Drugs and carbs are just tools and people who were abusing those tools always were causing themselves health problems - this is true and can be seen since 1950's. It is understandable why someone would cross the line but is it worth it? Milos till this days is teaching usage of the carbs+insulin to be in a very tactical way before/after training but many folks do it ALL DAY LONG hoping that this will make the difference...

All of these athletes are spectacular, it is really crazy how far they pushed limits of human body. Nevrtheless they seems to me to be a bit over-muscled and not symetric. The reality is competitive bodybuilding is not healthy, simply because it's the prep for the shows that promote extremely dangerous practices in order to achieve that final condition. There is only so much of that the body can take.the guys that got in for 5 or 10 years and got out are still going. Guys that push it beyond that are not generally so lucky, unless very genetically gifted.i think that's main reason less guys competing
