That is Matt grams knife and a little tip on the sheath is to pinch side to side as you're sliding the knife in and out so the blade doesn't slice the leather

I've used and own the speedy stitch. Works great on leather and thick materials, like a tonneau cover. Hand stitching is slow going though.

The trap reminds me of the movie, The Edge. One of my favorite survival movies. I think Jeff mentioned it in an old video about his movie collection. Speaking of that movie, I also remember how Alec Baldwin made a fire using a road flare. And just as Jeff said, when I first tried to replicate that, I couldn't keep the fire going! I can lighter fluid, tinder, a shed full of supplies...and the damn thing kept going out. Definitely a skill that should be practiced haha.

carbon steel is excellent for a pocket knife... I just let mine turn completely black. It might look kinda kruddy but a good one will stay sharp for a long time. That is a pretty neat little knife.

Matt Graham used a Condor Jungle Bowie in Dual Survival. He had reground the tip. Condor saw it and collaborated with him and produced his modified knife design, which is the knife in your box.

That sheath looks very much like a sami-knife sheath. To avoid cutting the leather when taking the knife in and out try squeezing the top of the sheath together. :)

The tab is NOT really for putting the knife inside your pants! THAT would be very uncomfortable, especially with a knife that long!! It IS however, used to put the knife sheath inside your gelt! The tab catches on the belt and also the belt tightness is a way to keep the sheath with the belt/pants when drawing the knife! It is a very old style that the American Mountain men used, extensively! Having done reenactments of the Fur Trade Era for over 35 years, I am very familiar with this type of sheath! There are variations of the tab, using a triangular hook or even a squarish hook but, they all hook over the belt with the actual sheath behind the belt! Hope this helps you understand what you have, a bit better! Cheers!
