Despite what is said by people, Soldier Boy was highly competent and aware. He has actual military training, so he may not have been as decorated of a hero as people think from WW2 but Soldier Boy wasn't the worst supe. A lot of what is said against him is hearsay.

*SO MANY* commenters not understanding that what the sargent sees is very different from what actually happened. The supes were intentionally targeting their own soldiers to make room for the Russians and prevent witnesses. They could all easily have wiped out the "enemy" but the point was to get Soldier Boy disabled and packaged away.

This is a solid theory, except that Gunpowder was the only one that wouldn’t have gone along with the plan and this is stated by Noir talking to Edgar. Yet he is the one who probably killed the most on their side. I think they just took advantage of the fact that they killed everyone and it was a good opportunity to get rid of SB. Edgar even says he doesn’t want to know the details - he just said get it done however you can do it. I don’t think this was planned, but they realized it was a good opportunity and Gunpowder wasn’t in on the plan. The twin even screaming “Fucking stop!” also proves that this wasn’t some plan that was put in place ahead of time.

None of them really seemed to know wtf they were doing in an actual combat scenario, even before Edgar spoke to Black Noir about getting rid of SB. Who knows though, maybe that was their plan? from the looks of it, Soldier Boy was the only one actually engaging hostiles. Least we know at this point his IFF codes weren't buggy. Though it is likely payback was intentionally killing witnesses

He was; Mindblast was controlling him, because he was the only one who wouldn't betray SB, and they needed to make sure nobody survived as a witness for what they would do to SB. Mallory was allowed to live, because she was CIA and was knocked out, so she was important to doubling the story that the Ruskies/Russians captured SB.

When you really look at it, most supes powers suck. But it's a good thing, keeps the show a bit more grounded and gritty and makes supes with real power(most of the 7, the magneto chick, Victoria) stand out.

That's correct. Soliderboy is handed over to the Russians by his own team. That's why noirs face is burnt because while mallory was unconscious, solider was attacked by his own team and ends up burning noirs against a burning vehicle Stan edgar made a deal with noir to sell off solideeboy

Another theory is that Mindstorm brainwashed his own team members to kill off all the resistance members that was under Grace Miller so they wouldn't have any Witnesses what happened to Soldier Boy. That way they can maintain plausible deniability saying the Russians took Soldier Boy.
