Actually the reason why he didn’t want to sign with the Flyers was because he wanted to play on the NHL right away as a top 6 forward rather than develop…. He also didn’t like the idea of having to start his career in the AHL.. even though guys like Frost , Foerster have done their time. Flyers dodged a bullet let this diva waste away his career in Cali 💀

@@SirHimothyy Gauthier is already an NHL-level forward who’s absolutely shredding the NCAA. “Waste his career in Cali” is a hell of a statement considering the u23 talent Anaheim employs. Carlsson, Zegras, Terry, McTavish, Zellweger, Mintyukov, Dostal, Luneau…the list is endless. And Cutter will be insulated with high end/elite playmakers up front rather than being relied upon as the 1C of the future for Philly (a role he wouldn’t have been suited for)

Our Athletic beat writer, Max Bultman (Wings) recently mocked this kid to us. Having watched this video, and based on both Bob's rankings and other pundits, it seems likely he'll be available at 8. This draft is gonna be interesting...I feel there could be so many variations after No. 1. I believe Wright goes there, but after that...who knows. Every year the NHL Draft surprises people...even the so called 'pro' analysts!

Cutter / Wisdom / Desnoyers / Foerster . While not superstars, are going to be Hella players. Low key this group is but when they all get in place it's going to change the soft/uninspiring play. Grit and skill, and guys who can shoot.

I wouldn't mind Wings picking him if he's available at #8. They need someone that can play Center and shoot the puck. Also it just seems like Yzerman wants to build the team bigger right now.

I agree. We definitely need a C and he's probably the best fit. Lambert and Kasper look decent too, but Nazar is too small and Geekie has too many question marks. McGroarty looks like a decent match also, but honestly Gauthier is a similar and better player.

Reminds me a bit of Alex Tuch but probably has a better shot. Patches is a good comparable but I think Gauthier is a bit more of a dynamic skater and puck carrier/handler than Patches is

Kinda reminds me of Rick Nash?! Power forward with great shot, and pretty good hands, making some quick moves. Could go to Columbus at 6 no problem. Need a winger to go with Sillinger and Johnson.

Columbus needs centers more than wingers, so that’s probably where they’d put Cutter if they draft him. Signed right now they have: Bjorky, Jake, Gus, Kent, Kirill, Chinny, Tex, Robbie, Danforth and Pyyhtia. RFAs: Laine, Bemmer, Foudy, TFW and Meyer.

@@T.D.3 Yeah they have a lot of guys that could go a lot of places. Bjorky and Jake really the only 3+ year guys. Gus maybe gone in 2y or traded before. Tex might play C, Johnson I'm sure they want at C as well. Robbie and Danforth bottom 6 guys along with Foudy and Meyer. Marchenko/Chinakov arethe big ? at this point. But no harm taking the best player at the draft. If it's Cutter then at least he will have 2-3 development time with no rush with this winger backlog.

@@KingKuisma they’re in a really good spot with both their picks. One of the RHD could fall to 6 then get the best center or winger at 12. Get one of the centers with upside at 6 like Savoie then best forward or d-man at 12. Jarmo and the scouts will get it right.

From the video it shows he hustles back to play D pretty often. Might have a few moments he was lazy, but that can be fixed.

He has multiple goals/highlights where he actually steals the puck from the D end and scores or almost scores. Also it depends on the system his coach uses, the NHL will force him to basically be at least defensively responsible for all his other skills I don't think that's gonna be hard to teach like skating, shooting, or getting bigger would be
