That man-lift was a smart move. Your patience is rewarded. All the time trimming off limbs and cutting in sections has paid off. You were also smart to let yourself recover properly before tackling any serious work. Good sense always makes things better.
@OpunktSchmidt13012 жыл бұрын
Actually there was only a small chance to cut down these trees without doing any damage to the roof. But the shed's still standing an no one's got hurt. And THAT's the most important thing! Thanks a lot for the video! 😊👍🏻

I rented a lift like that to take down a dead tree that was leaning over the roof of my house.I didn’t realize how shaky it would be when it was at full extension. I could hear in your voice and see the tension in your face when you were at the top. It was so worth it to get the tree down.

Glad you are both over the bug. Nothing quite so draining as a fever. You did well renting that elevator machine. $200.00 is way cheaper than even having someone cut down one tree, although I doubt you would have to pay someone, I have seen you cut some really big trees down. Thanks for sharing how you do it. I am sure it helps others to see how it is done safely. Have a Blessed day.

JudithB Glad you are feeling better!!! We are still cutting firewood and the side of my driveway is about full!!! My son cut down some cedar logs and brought them home in 10;' lengths to start building the wood shed on the side of my barn. I have a trash tree growing against the side of my barn that needs removed and 2 40' trees to come down in the yard. Still cutting over on a 3 acre area too. I am staying busy, cleaning the barn and reorganizing the storage. Snow has missed us 3 times now, and we dont usually get any until Jan. so trying to get as much done as possible!!! LOL!!

Evan, you did a fantastic job. 5 trees down (plus a few smaller) and only one minor hole in the roof to patch. Easy peasy. I presume the dent can be pushed by up into place.
@lindadecker35382 жыл бұрын
Wow, Evan. I didn't realize your "cutting down 5 trees job" was going to be so involved. I didn't know the trees were grown into/around the firewood shed like that. Good work & very interesting video. I also enjoyed your video from a couple years ago where you cut down that huge, very tall tree that is the Billy goat's stump they play on now. Both required good planning and a lot of work. Happy that you & Rebekah are feeling much better. Best wishes!

for light applications like sheds you can timberframe some corner braces into a 4x4 truss. i saw the posts on site in your video. it would make your firewood shack last 100 years at cost of one post (maybe 18 or 24 inch braces). put two on the corner posts and youve got great racking resistance.

I know it will look good and be very functional. Take care and have a great week. 😊
