Can confirm about using high-quality pictures. I duplicated one of my listings and only changed the primary image to a lower-quality version and that one got significantly fewer clicks than the better version. They were both posted on the same day as well.

Im about to launch my Etsy shop in about a week. I thought long and hard about ‘thank you’ notes, and what I decided to do for now while my shop is small and sales will be slow at first, I’m making small(~1.75”) thank you hearts from scraps and giving them a quick round over and a mineral bath. Minimal sanding and finishing, but they look nice and their hand(cnc)made. Hoping these will help drive customers to leave some early positive reviews. If/when sales get so much that I don’t have time to make these, I’ll switch over to traditional thank you notes at that point. When I run my jobs, if there’s some leftover material, I’ll just bang out a few thank you hearts from those scraps while it’s attached to the spoilboard. Just tossing them in a bucket for now until I get my inventory shelves built.

Great video. I just quit my job to focus on our business full time. This video was great reminder because a person can get busy and forget about some of these and make the same mistakes more than once. I have a bunch of listings that still need the photos updated haha. Also, I love the tip on the white background photos. it's a requirement for Amazon listings so if anyone is thinking of doing Amazon, start taking those white background photos now!

Just getting back on etsy after 7 years away. Selling wood products from my own shop. One thing I see is that there are cheap products being sold from china that are not hand made. They are mass produced. And they are very cheap compared to what I can turn out. It is hard to offer free shipping and keep my prices competitive.

I like the video. You have some good tips. My wife and I have an Etsy shop that does close to 500k a year in sales. We've tried the free shipping trick, but our sales dropped dramatically. I'm not sure why.

red flag! IF Etsy does not put you in THEIR algo , sellers will not get noticed. Some of these ideas have have been loused up by Etsy's latest do over.
