Cutting Kymco Agility 50cc CDI

To all those wary, i just tried this 30 minutes ago and took a ride, i can confirm this works with about 7mph+ boost without any other modifications.

Instead of destorying your CDI, just buy a performance CDI with a higher rev limit. It works great for my scooter. Please before you upgrade check what else might need an upgrading to prevent damage.

I just tried this and is fucking worked GREAT it went 54 km on the teller after the adjustment is now goes 62km on the meter. I stil need to get the smooth vario bus i bet it wil go 70km then. Acceleration everything improved. Wich ia great cause now it is decent to drive wile before it just couldnt handle city traffic. Thnx for this greetz from Holland

Non, le fils est comme moulé dans le plastique, il suffit de faire une entaille de 4 ou 5 millimétres et ca suffit !

just got one for free wont start and owner "didnt know what was wrong". well after diagnosing no spark it led me to the cdi box. low and behold what do i find? a gapped cdi box.

rather than cutting it tho it works the proper way only costs 35 pounds for a proper naruka racing unrestricted cdi unit with improved ignition mapping on it so advantage over just cutting it

Cdi 2012 July got broken, it worked for 1 min. And then the scooter stopped.

I did this, and I got pulled over for 70 in a 55 mph zone. I told the cop but it's only a 49cc scooter. That made him inspect it. They found this modification and I got 6 months in jail. I'm out now and looking for you. Cheers

Hey, I cut the cdi on my kymco agility 2009 scooter. And when it accelerate up to 40 km/h it jumps. Does this harm the motor? And is this because i havent change the boss yet? HELP!

they do this in the netherlands all the time to convert 25 kmh scooters intoo 45kmh scooters , they do use an aftermarket cdi , mount a bigger jet and i believe heavier rollers , if there is one they remove the plug inside the exhaust , and mount a smooth bushing , sumtimes you need to remove sumting from the top of the carburator so it can open fully the overreving is mostly from bushing ring still in there

man, you'd better delete your video, it will be useful for people and for you. don't show something that doesn't work, and something that makes the whole engine crash after this procedure. really thank you for this video, that my engine screwed up due to the incorrect operation of the cdi and the whole electricity in general, that everything immediately overheated and screwed up. I have change my cdi to a racer cdi, and it goes in about 70 km/h on flat ground. This is without changing the boss. Is it possible that the restricted boss aleready is removed? Because of the speed it goes in, I havent change the boss and dont see why I should.

before you cut/change cdi, you should check inside variator for restrictions on gliding tube. You change the tube and it will go 55 kmh, then you can first change or cut the CDI and it will go 70-90kmh. There is also a restriction ring on the air intake in your karburator, you can remove it but you will probably have to buy bigger jet to make it work right. also check airfilter, they often stuff allot of crap inside to block the airflow. I don’t recommend you do this I tried it and my moped just turned off while riding and my cdi overheated or something, buy a unrestricted cdi online or just upgrade your cilinder

Maybe no harm but rejetting or at least moving clip on main needle will richen the mixture. IMO the airbox should have a few 1/4" holes drilled in it to get a bit more air to the carb. More fuel plus more air and an engine derestricted to rev higher should provide a little more power and top speed. A smooth variator boss and lighter rollers is done to help the scooter get up to speed faster. Which to some extent it should do anyway since the mods aside from the variator should give a horsepower increase.

I have cut my cdi and it woked fine. later on i went on it and it was only going like 10 mph and then sometimes a huge load of power comes in and goes to 40mph, when i take my throttle down it goes back to 10mph and has like no power.. help??

This is a stupid, unprofessional hack. If you want real improvement spend the money on an aftermarket, unrestricted CDI with adjustable ignition timing. You need to be able to advance your ignition if you want real results.

Yeah perfect ...overrev youre engine and kill it👍 it doesnt do anything above 8000rpm the standard setting..more rpm is some more speed and revs up to 9500rpm and you shorten the lifespan of your engine rapidly
