Thank you. When you have a design that goes all the way through the loaf, it is best to cut it this way. Welcome to the wonderful world of soaping. Yes it is a great way to release your creativity. A person can really get addicted. :-) Enjoy your journey !

Thanks, but soda ash is ruining all my soaps, alcohol does not help. I am so discouraged by it I haved stopped soaping.
@elainewright97508 жыл бұрын
How much ash are you getting ? Have you tried to in your soaps under a light stream of water. That will remove the ash if it's a thin layer on the top.
@phoebesue30088 жыл бұрын
+Elaine Wright Thanks so much for asking. My soap always has a very thin layer of ash on the top, just enough to really ruin the colors. I have used alcohol lightly, heavily, steamed it, run it under both cold and hot water...nothing takes it off. My ash isn't like a light dusting, it's a thin layer, but really seems really embedded on there. I have recently read that a recipe heavy on the hard oil side, which mine is, can cause ash, so I am going to modify. Ugh, so disappointing. Thank u Elaine.

My soaps have a light coating of ash on them too. I wash the soaps under a light stream of water so not to cause bubbles. Just rub the top of your soaps and it will come off. I hope this works for you. It does for me.

I'm binge watching your videos! Thank you making them. I have never tried to cut the soap this way. How many oz of oils do you use in your recipes when you make soap to cut this way?
@elainewright97508 жыл бұрын
Hi Allison, I am making a 2 pound batch. It all depends on how big your mold is You want the bars to be at least 1 inch or more.Thank you row watching.
