FE6 was never released in the West, and if anything, an FE7 rep would probably have been better than FE6 in terms of Smash, but, you know, FE7 wasn't even being developed yet. The FE Reps I would choose from would be Marth (mascot of the franchise), Ike (Tellius Rep), Robin (Awakening Rep, and Awakening revived the FE franchise), and Byleth (Most copies sold in the franchise)

Hero is so bad. If I had to remove one character of the whole game it would be him, before byleth, corrin or plant. His mooveset is so bad, a realistic match against hero is basically hero standing still because of the select menu while his opponent is camping for avoiding being thwacked or magic burst and die at zero. His other mooves are basic and can go on every characters. Also his name is trash and his design is really bad too. If it stay I hope they will put another hero onstead of him because oh god this one looks bad. He is not iconic, stop lying even when we knew there was a dragon quest characters everyone thought it has to be slime or herdrick. Just get read of hero, there is characters I just don't care about. I just want him gone forever.

Damon Alexander I agree Joker should stay. P5R is currently my favorite game. I’m just thinking of options that they could replace him with, not saying that they need to replace him. Also, I do think that a TMS rep is the least likely (at least the #FE version) since it could be seen as an excuse to get another Fire Emblem rep in the game, be it Caeda with Tsubasa or Chrom with Itsuki.

For me, I’d keep Marth (He was the first), Robin (Sword and sorcery) and Byleth ( having a spear, an axe, and a bow to represent the FE triad of balance). I’d add back Roy, IF they don’t add more fire emblem reps, to keep a balance in the hypothetical roster.

Joker feels "too niche" yet he wins tournaments from last year and early this year thanks to MK Leo....okay In all seriousness, I do disagree with you on Joker because I personally feel that with his inclusion to smash and how to kicked off the fighter's pass with a bang, he was the one character everyone was hyped for because you never see it coming (pardon the pun). Not to mention that Atlus and Nintendo has a good relationship with each other, which is how they able to let us play the SMT/Persona Q games on the 3ds and they recently announced SMT 5 for the switch. The only hate Joker ever really got was he rose quickly to top tier and MK Leo kept winning with Joker. But it's the typical behavior within the smash community, hate on top tiers or characters they can't stand watching.

He should be the first to go unless more Final Fantasy music comes with him. - The Miis are the least interesting characters in the game and the whole customizable moveset thing makes them needlessly complicated. The most vulgar thing about this video is the conclusion. He wants the cut characters to come back as DLC (i.e. make us pay extra for them).

@Dominic I'd be onboard if they executed the Miis in a more interesting way. Currently, there is little about them that feels like an homage to their most iconic games (Wii Sports being the most noteworthy). The game itself doesn't even treat them like full-fledged characters. They're not represented in classic mode. Their faces typically show up as a black blotch on the fight intro screen (as if the development team itself doesn't even care). Make them less blah and fully incorporate them into the game and maybe a case could be made. Keeping them while cutting interesting character designs seems silly though.

WFT is an inanimate object and will definitely be cut, and Incineroar is a flop in popularity even though GameFreak tries to deny it, he is not even that popular in Japan and is hated in competitive Pokemon for being on of the toxic intimidate spammers alongside Landorus, (Incineroar is my least favorite Pokemon ever if you couldn't tell), and is really a fighting type even though GF swears it's a dark type Sakurai wasn't fooled

Overall, reacting as I see it. Ditching the Echo Fighters and Semiclones makes sense but I think even of the original twelve they shouldn't all stay. Not unless they get a serious revamp. Mario and Zelda have good picks. Incineroar staying makes the least sense of the reps you hadn't mentioned up to that point. Lucario and Greninja win the popularity polls far more often, just look to Pokemon running one themselves via Google, and Lucario's even making a resurgence. Marth, Roy, Ike, and Robin...not...the worst combination. I might have ditched Roy and gone with Corrin personally. Or just ditched Roy period. ROB and Mr. Game & Watch feel the only fair miscellaneous ones to keep. Keeping Diddy Kong is precarious but it makes sense. Wario's good, Samus and Ridley are good, and...Falco staying is weird. I'd keep Wolf and remove Falco as Wolf already got revamped to be different enough. Kirby should keep all three and maybe get a fourth honestly. Pit and Palutena, agreed. Ness but not Lucas...sad to say but I do agree. Shulk, Inkling, and Min Min, I agree, unless Min Min gets replaced with someone else. Villager staying but not Isabelle...Isabelle's a semiclone so you kinda covered that already. Disagree on removing Little Mac and Olimar, but Wii Fit Trainer...I have to agree. Keeping the Miis, kind of a necessity but they should be consolidated to one slot with more variability. While Sonic, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Ryu, Simon, and Banjo make sense to stay, the other third-party picks do not out of the current ownership for them being...I don't even need to get into it. That or they're echoes.

Honestly I think Byleth is the best all around representative of Fire Emblem as a whole. My biggest problem was never the number of Fire Emblem characters. It was the number of them that just used swords, which made them all look the same. There's a ton of other weapons in FE besides swords which made the inclusion of so many swordsmen so baffling. Byleth showcases all sorts of different weapons from Fire Emblem. And because of that he does the best job representing the series as a whole. So I'd probably keep him in because he's more Fire Emblem than anyone else in Smash.

As of now, it is very likely that the next fire emblem game will be a remake of path of radiance. ( which was the game Ike came from. ) Roy is just...... outdated to me, people only know him because of smash, not anything else. I would personally switch up Roy for byleth but you do have a few points about Roy yourself.

Roy is one of my secondary mains but if I was trimming the roster, I would cut him before cutting Byleth. Three Houses was absolutely huge. I'm still replaying the different story routes with different character scenarios, and Byleth has a much more creative moveset than Roy. I remember sakurai saying in a direct that kirby was getting harder and harder to code in as you have to give him a new copy ability everytime a new fighter is made, so it would be cool to see but there would be just too much work on the team to give him multiple abilities for each fighter.

As much as Sakurai likes one character, the final decision of who is getting in smash comes from Nintendo. Persona 5 is a Play Station exclusive, so I don’t think they’d like a lot the idea of one of their main games is represented in another console. Same with Cloud

Oilmar leaving is a cardinal sin imo, Pikmin needs all the representation it can get. Admittedly, Olimar’s Smash design is a really poor representation of Pikmin, but that’s exactly what revamped move sets are for
