Many ornamental flowers and cut flowers are TOXIC. ALWAYS do your own research and take responsibility for the plants that you introduce around your kids, pets, and everyone else. Use common sense when handling plant materials: wear gloves, always wash hands, avoid contact with face, etc. NEVER consume any plant which has not been positively identified with complete certainty to be safe and edible. Before planting anything, research to determine whether specific flowers are considered invasive where you live or if there are laws that apply to their planting in your area.

Your zinnias are so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your garden and know how! A tip I have heard that has held true to me is the wiggle test. You hold about 8 in down the stem and gently move it back and forth. If it is strong and stiff, it is ready. If it flops from side to side, it is either too far gone or not ready. It think this has a LOT to do with the advice you were giving!

Thank you so much for sharing this information. Very helpful as to when to cut the zinnias. It can be confusing cut ones that are at the proper time. I have found the Queen Lime Red and Queen Lime Blush seem to last the longest in my vases compared to other varieties.

I'm still learning about dahlias. Mine haven't been doing very well. I'm hoping that it will be better when the weather cools off. 🌱🌱🌱

Yes, but I probably won't make a video. Finishing planting bells of ireland, dianthus, hollyhock, and canterbury bells.

What do you do for powdery mildew on your zinnia's? My zinnia's got hit really hard with powdery mildew last summer.

I use baking soda to control it for as long as possible. Eventually, I just completely pull the plants. It's just one of those things that is inevitable in a lot of places.

Can i still plant zinnia seeds in august?

It depends on your growing zone. I would check to see when the first frost date is, and then subtract the days to maturity on the seed pack. 🌱🌱🌱
