CVA Scout loose hand guard fix

This is my 45-70 CVA Scout deer hunting rifle with Vortex scope.
Hand guard was loose and needed to be adjusted. All good now.

Mine's hard to open. Got to smack the trigger guard with the rubber mallet to get it to open.

Just adjust the spring tension a bit to make it work better. It’s a cool, simple gun.

Take the hand guard off, there is an adjustment screw on the barrel, secured by a set screw, adjust that.
