@ThePrimusCrusader Not every wrestler on the roster is making good money, you might be making more than most of them.
@MichaelSheaAudio2 ай бұрын
@ThePrimusCrusader This is for you as well as @AllHailKingKurt - Just because they make more money than they did before, doesn't mean that they don't need a union. They still have to cover their own healthcare on their own (How do people in the US survive, seriously?), and aside from necessary flights that WWE covers, wrestlers still need to feed themselves (yes there is catering at events, but they eat more than that), rent their own cars to get to the venues, and book their own hotels(?). I'm going off of what I've heard from WWE talent, this could be outdated, it could be wrong, and it may not apply to other promotions. All of these expenses on top of regular expenses back home, most wrestlers aren't left with much. Another issue is the independent contractor nonsense. WWE can sign someone to a 5 year contract that the wrestler can't break, but the company can fire them whenever they want without penalty, and the performer is still stuck with a non-compete clause in such an event. That's not right. The other things mentioned before, like healthcare, would need to be addressed if contracted wrestlers were actual employees. It benefits the company and screws the performer by using the "independent contractor" BS. Jesse Ventura is right, Zelina Vega is right - wrestlers should be unionized.
@Bowdy_Up2 ай бұрын
@@the44118the problem comes down to how much do you pay each guy? And how hard it is to fire someone who’s in a union. What happens when a guy is too difficult to work with like dean anderson or cm punk? I say this as a BMWE member. So the guy who doesn’t have the skills, experience, knowledge, or production that I have gets to make the same as me? Add in steroids and the dangerous moves of a guy like Jeff Hardy vs a guy like Sting who has relatively safe move sets. These smaller companies can’t compete with WWE or AEW. TNA and New Japan will go under and you’ll once again have a WWE monopoly on wrestling aka “sports entertainment”. But jesse is the real narcissist, look at what he did to Theo’s podcast. It’s always been about him and what “he’s done”. He literally never has anything good to say about anyone except himself.
