Cant really expect the most high profile people to be totally candid about stuff like that because of the legalities/taboos. I cover PEDs issues on my channel if that's your thing though :)

Pretty sure admitting to doing something illegal can get you arrested and in other troubles. Look at what happened to Nathan De-Asha. Visa problems.

I met Phil at an expo many years ago when Jay was still Mr.O, and it baffled me the reputation he had once he was Mr.O, as the man i met was an absolute gent! It was a pleasure to meet him. And in this interview i think he portrays that more gentlemanly side which i believe is his true nature. Lovely guy. He came across, really articulate and intelligent. Conducted himself very well. 👍 and well done to Piers, for hosting such a mature and well thought out interview with a great world champion of bodybuilding, too many ‘journalists’ do not take bodybuilders seriously. Whether you agree with their choices to use PED’s or not is irrelevant, its their choice, and its in their sport, and its not tested so its a level playing field and at least within bodybuilding its more ‘open & honest’ and a very mature discussion held by both men. Great interview. Look forward to Phil’s documentary now 👍

Eh people like drama, and when they can't find any they'll make some up. They'll take someone at the top of their game saying they are the best in the world (when they actually are) and call them arrogant for just saying the truth. They'll start asking a guy who's been dieting for 6 months stupid questions and act all surprised when he seems a bit annoyed. Then there was all the people who wanted to see Kai Greene win and were trying to portray him as some kind of underdog fighting the bodybuilding royalty establishment gatekeepers or some silly shit like that.

As a former model and actor in Hollywood I've spent time with most of the competitors at Gold's Gym Venice Beach CA. At six foot seven, 5% bf/245 lbs, I have no chance winning or even competing in BB but it is so much fun to train with them and learn. What I can say is that it is absolutely the hardest sport that I know at the top level. Genetics do play a huge role in winning but they don't play any role in being healthy and having fun, looking as good as you can within your genetic and dedication margins. Training on the right diet, unenhanced is actually good for you, and doesn't require all that much time (45 min. 4 to 5 times per week).
@David-lx4yb4 ай бұрын
Genetics play a huge role in bodybuilding. The problem is that those who don’t have the genetics to get where they want, all cry foul in the name of wanting “equality.”

Really cool segment. It’s so interesting how people not into bodybuilding think bodybuilders are “strong”. Though Phil is strong that’s never been his calling card and in the industry wouldn’t be considered strong. Phil is a great ambassador for the sport.
