Excellent video, Ben! I agree with Mike regarding the CISSP. It shouldn't be on anyone's cert radar until you have extensive experience.

Great Video! I currently attained my TCM PJPT and it had amazing learning and a great cert exam. Do you by any chance have an opinion about HTB CPTS (Certified Penetration Testing Specialist)?

@@BenTruong I am currently evaluating whether to specialize in Red Team, Blue Team, or pursue a generalist role in cybersecurity. I am seeking guidance on the most suitable path forward.

i didant watched the video yet i am really curious about your opinion. i hope that in couple of days i will be able to register for the ejpt from ine security and complete it as my first ever certificate. i really seek towards a career in this field , what would you advice me to do next or maybe even do instead of ejpt as my first certification? unfortunetly im low budget otherwise i would have started with oscp ... im also doing the htb cpts course but i think its really hard for me now..

Security+ is a great place to start
@jeffnaval489419 сағат бұрын
25% of security+ questions is networking. i got asked in security+ about the OSI layers and that is something i wouldn't be able to answer without studying net+ first. i suggest doing net+ first before security+.
@BenTruong19 сағат бұрын
This is a good point, network+ before security+ is definitely not a requirement, but it’ll definitely help a bit

Comptia is a joke nothing but paper tigers these days . Test dumps are not hard to find . Repeating information and understanding information are 2 different things . I can teach a parrot to repeat but it won’t understand! You forgot Linux certs .

To be fair, the courses that are aimed at teaching you the objectives have plenty of information. Anyone can run through flashcards, but you definitely learn if you take the time to.

Would you prefer jumping into a car with someone who knows what a brake is or with someone who has no idea what a brake is?
