Well, Jay hi Jay, my name is Nathaniel Harris and I want to fill out for section 8 because I had got approval before, but I got burned with some high grease in my old department and by the time I got out the hospital insurance carry that I have just started sending me to places like the nursing home for a year and then left the nursing home for you and sister living in place. I’ve been here for almost a year. I just wanna get out of here and get it into my place so I can get my independence back and I could be motivated to keep moving forward and beingdepressed I’m going backwards not moving forward at all. I pray every day and every night before bed and before meals hears I put me in the place where I’m gonna feel motivated to keep moving forward.

I have lived in 202 & HUD Section 8 housing in Florida right now the waiting lists are 3yrs long for Pinellas County, Fl

You can't get in anywhere . I live in Florida. I am in disability raising a grandchild I adopted. They don't even make appointments trying to call any of these affordable housing places is even difficult

@@MichelleJohnson-tg5lx same here I’ve tried the lottery, public housing and I can’t get in anywhere. I’ve been on a waitlist for about 15 years now in Melbourne fl and still nothing.

Especially in Florida. Because Florida doesn’t care about those at the bottom or anyone with disabilities.

Is there a website out there that lists specifically low income affordable apartments for seniors? Not assisted living or nursing home or retirement home but just regular apartments for low income seniors? Do you need to contact the Housing Authority in each community you might be interested in? I just need help getting started on this search. Thank you!

😂I got on section 8 when I was homeless. I was on a wait list for over a year and I was surfing on couches. I put my life back together pretty much. Then my ex passed away and I started receiving spousal benefits which I thought was great. It wasn't. I lost my voucher because they said I made to much so my rent went up over $250 and along with everything else going up so much I'm about to be homeless again. All my hard work down the toilet. I'm 61 on disability and also a Vet. I'm tired of fighting this system. Just when I thought I was doing OK they knocked me on my ass again. I'm about to just give up and live in my car.

That's really disheartening . Shit can't win .I'm in same boat at 60 no spousal benefits however my ex and I never got formal divorce I'm thinking of serving him divorce papers and getting my share of his railroad retirement .I'm so stinking poor I don't know how to even go about it. It would more than double the disability I'm receiving now . Being 60 and poor really sucks .I hope you are doing well and have found some practical solutions. I'm afraid everyday of what the future holds I don't have family that are supportive . I think that could be nice .Praying for all us boomers.

Hi Jay, thank you for your video. Amazing. I will reach out to you at a later date, but first I am doing all of my research for a Section 8, etc in my area of Geneva, IL. I am male, 64 in September. Single, never married, no children. On Medicaid, Social Security. Lived in this apartment for 25 years, just need to move in something I can afford before my rent goes up next year. I am on a Section 8 waiting list for almsot 3 years now, probally will never call. Thank again.

Dano from Pittsburgh I'm 64 and had no time for vouchers I accepted 202 low income and there's bed bugs here at.. I'm on SSDI at age of 64 ,,,how do I get a voucher to move me to a better place !!!!

Aloha. I'm in Hawaii and considering "porting" or moving my voucher back to the mainland in 2025, but there does't seem to be anyone willing to help with that here. I have no idea where to begin, or how much it would cost me to move myself and some of my things back. Can you help with this?

Lusk, WY has many places open, however, there is always a price to pay. Not talking financial so much. Your rights are going to be violated from all arenas.
