Cyberpunk: Edgerunners broke me. The fights, the characters, the setting is all top notch. This anime fight scenes are crazy. David Martinez vs Adam Smasher was peak. I hate Adam Smasher but at the same time he was cold. Definitely one of the most disrespectful anime moments. Was yall team Lucy or team Rebbecca. Rebbeca deserved better... Maine end... that was my dawg... by far the greatest video game anime.

Although adam pointed out that he has potential and maybe in time he could be adam smasher 2.0 with decades of work put into him by arasaka. Maelstrom gang are full of psychos or even cyberpsychos that are relatively high functioning. Albeit they have their bouts of murder sprees now and then. If he kept the chroming down. Maybe half his body or even 70% he woudlve been fine maybe? But going full borg will do anyone in. Something unexplained about the brain rejecting the chrome. Maybe signal overload but delusions start sooner or later for everyone. Loss of reality. Adam smasher though, he was already a peak psycho insane. So for him losing his mind was just another tuesday. 96% chrome. It's just a brain in the vat with the nerves for tendrils perhaps.

In the game series like the books and lore smasher and black hand fought on a building mid collapse as a nuke was blowing up inside of it. Atom smasher is the equivalent of dracula flow. He is him. Fighting David's crew, that shit meant nothin to him. Just another day at the office. This is why this big super weapon that David had at the end was just a toy to him. He took one look at it and knew exactly what its weaknesses were. We talking a dude who during the corpo wars was solo'ing squads of cyberpunk's version of Gundams

We dealing with an iconic character that can move at like 70 mph run, loaded with the latest hardware and software and has a near century of skills and experience. And what do they have him do. He was basically just a beefed up regular enemy. He should have been a multi stage cinematic event taking place in, around, and on arasaka tower. Should have had a fight that basically spanned night city. Have the people you helped in side quests help you out. Like the fight has been brought outside and is rolling through the streets, then boom, here comes some of those AI guys limos launching off an overpass into smasher.

Here is the thing with Adam Smasher. The man was born in NYC which in the cyberpunk lore is a hellhole, Adam did as many of the young bloods did and joined a gang then went into the marines then was discharged or kicked out of the marines went back to NYC and back to the gangs. Then during one job he gets hit with a RPG, gets turned in ground beef but survives. Then arasaka approaches him in the hospital and offer to turn him into a full borg. Adam gleefully accepts no hesitation. The man was psycho before becoming a cyborg so he wasn’t really affected by cyberpsychosis. Also any job by arasaka he takes, must have a high degree of violence and civilian casualties, he willing takes jobs were he can kill civilians. He isn’t even human anymore. His Full borg body is also heavily customized by him so he is beyond any cyborg in the cyberpunk world. But the man actual had a girlfriend who was the arasakas founders daughter.

So, Davids character in the end was someone plagued by the people he loved. Their “dreams” he didn’t have his own particular dream. Promised to take Lucy to the moon which was her dream, his mother’s dream for him to be at the top of Arasaka tower… Etc. Cyberpunk is such a good story. Genuinely helped me look at life differently. I still play cyberpunk to this day and this anime hit me DIFFERENT. SO glad the goat is covering it. Now keep in mind, you can visit every place you see in the anime in the game. Including finding the gang's gear AND the jacket. You even get to learn about David through the NPC's. This game and anime are truly one of a kind. From Lucy's monowire, to david's Kerenzikov. And if you haven't played Cyberpunk yet. It's never too late. They patched and upgraded essentially everything. It's a great experience. Let alone, building your own story.

Another great vid my guy! After seeing this (since I haven't watched the show yet, being on my bucket list) it made me realize a few things: 1. I see why Lucy is a DLC character for GG Strive now 2. This group deserved so much better 3. This anime is a subliminal marketing stunt (or whatever the actual term is) cause after this, if I were to buy the game and see Adam Smasher, it is ON. FUCKIN.
