The numbers on the back of the cyber key were for use in a section in the official Transformers Cybertron website. You enter the number on the back of the key and you'd get bonus info and art of the character. The first letter also refers to the size of the toy, S for scout, D for deluxe, V for Voyager... and so on.

jeremy lemings kinda surprised though they didned use the rotation system for the arms as well since the arms are the hood you should be able to open them in vehicle mode for Anti air defense but your left with a wird hanging pannel unless i suppose you left it at 90 degress creating some kind of blast shield

I had this toy when I was a kid and I loved it, my favorite Hot Shot, yes he lost half of his speed to have better control while he’s racing or traveling as his new vehicle mode is an All Terrain Vehicle in Cybertron/Galaxy Force.

You actually have the sword stored incorrectly on vehicle mode. The slat on his leg is for robot mode storage. In vehicle mode, it pegs between his legs.

The code on the back of Cyber Keys was part of a promotion on Transformers.com, where entering the code would bring up some exclusive info, typically an extended bio and some production sketches. That was ditched when they canned the Cybertron theme in favor of the movie.

I believe that the part on the side where you put the knife is a form of key storage, and the knife pegs between the legs in vehicle mode. My favorite usage of said knife is the wrist mount. Reminds me of the new Rook figure.

Since there is no official marking of it that I recall of, you can see it however you please. For me an exhaust is a defensive weapon, since it's not just Smokescreen who can make smokescreens. :D

I can see your point, considering Scattorshot gets two huge arm-mounted missile racks that contain heavy laser guns, and Red Alert gets an arm-mounted blaster/ tool thing and a shoulder-mounted rocket/ IMMA FIRIN MAH LASAR cannon. While Hot Shot only has a knife and his guns mounted to his frame, he does have all those missile racks *built into* him; had he used them all in the show, his Cyber Key attack would’ve been a missile storm to end missile storms.

I think when you transform him you need to pull the front end forward and that gives you the clearance to bring the arms down.

batlantern Nope. That part of the toy is all hinges, nothing on a slide that could accomplish that. It's hard to tell but in the video I am pulling up on the parts as well as wiggling them around to clear them, there's no upward give to the assembly.

I had many toys thought the years. Some left, others have been left behind (to others that possibly cherished as much as I did if not more), a few, not many, have broke. Out of all of them, this is one of those I sometime miss. By today standard is nowhere as articulated or complex, but it was a solid piece of work. Except for the twin guns on top, those barrels were WAY subpar.

I don't have any of the original Cybertron Defense toys from the Unicron Trilogy. In general back then, I passed on a lot of Transformers that didn't directly homage G1 characters. But as a result, I do have the repainted versions of all three of them they did during Universe 2.0. With his rugged alt-mode and being, as you say, armed to the teeth, Hot Shot here made a great Roadbuster IMHO. Even now that we have the Generations voyager class version, I still have a soft spot for this mold. As for other Hot Shots and speaking of Universe 2.0, I don't think that you've done that version of Hot Shot or TFCC Dion.

Yeah, I guess I was. I mean I loved Beast Wars, liked Beast Machines well enough, and even had a soft spot for the goofy charm of Car Robots. But I was really put off by the Unicron Trilogy. Both the cartoons and toys. I would cherry pick a few toys from Energon and Cybertron that I liked because they homaged G1 guys, but mostly I was buying Alternators back then. Since then, the last few cartoons have done a lot to win me over.
