DUDE. Cybertron Defense Scattershot is like Crocodile Dundee. Some punk 'bot comes up to him and threatens him with a gun, and Scatter's ladybot goes "he's got a gun!" and Scatter is like "That's not a gun." He then flips out his big badass anti-tank rifle, and goes "That's a gun."

I love how even the bad toys of the Cybertron line all have amazing detail put into the molding and paint, along with gimmicks that for the most part don't interfere with anything.

I got the Dropshot version as a gift from my grandma and while I first thought "oh, I wanted the blue one", I couldn't be happier with it, this mold is fantastic and my go to guy whenever someone says "Overkill" :)

Loved this toy as a kid, and btw the sliding down of the missile battery with the foldout antitank rifle allows the elbow to bend with the weapon out so he can actually rest the stock of the rifle against his shoulder, a very needed touch as that thing is INSANELY powerful... I mean, it's literally the relative scale of the main tank cannon of armada Megatron, IN HIS HAND rather than slung around the hip.

After Cybertron, upgrades were rare. The only ones I can think of were Samurai Prowl, Wingblade Optimus Prime, and Beast Hunters Optimus Prime, the first two who were upgrade kits, the latter being a new mold in the same vein as this crew. Prime had two characters get repaints in canon, but iirc, that bumblebee never got a proper toy of it. So, I'd argue these guys were, in fact, the new norm

If it were on the correct side, it could also have a small seat molded behind it as if it was a spot for the missile Salvo operator to sit in vehicle mode, behind a 'blast shield' that became the reticle for robot mode

There are some 5mm screwholes just above his waist that you can use to mount the gun. Can't aim it forward there, but it does make him look more armed

I have this mold as Universe Dropshot, who I think has slightly nicer colors with his kinda earthy/desert look. Cybertron really did have a lot of great molds. Having only acquired it in the past year, I was actually surprised by his heft. I think because of his Alt mod being so square and compact and having such a bulky robot mode makes him feel heavier then even other voyagers in the line.

the Sigil looks almost exactly the same as the one with the wings, with a slight added difference of there not appearing to be a triangle at the bottom (but that says a lot for me; I nearly cannot tell the difference between Decade & Decade Violent Emotion)

It looks as if the triggers for the missiles might actually be too tight, putting pressure onto the missiles and bending them. No idea if it's adjustable outside of replacing the springs in the firing mechanism.

On the under side of the left missile pod is a peg hole where the two halves connected together in vehicle mode. Couldn't the riffle be mounted in there or is the handle of the riffle a different sized peg? Also, I never really thought much of Scattorshot as a character but I do really like that head design. He just seems like more of a scientist/medic in the show which doesn't really seem to fit someone named Scattershot.

Jetfire48 That's totally accurate to what his character was in Cybertron. Scottorshot had a calm almost monotone voice and spent more time sitting in front of a computer terminal than in the field actually fighting Decepticons. He was also one of the smallest Autobots being shorter than even Hot Shot in their original forms. His weapons consisted of two shoulder mounted cannons and a double barrelled hand held blaster... that was it. He wasn't as heavily on weapons as this upgraded form. Even the shows intro doesn't show him doing much other than taking roll call. You'd think a guy named Scattorshot would be actually shooting Decepticons any chance he gets. Honestly I'd expect a personality more like Crosshairs was in AoE instead of a character that's more like Rhinox. He was a scientist with far too much fire power for a guy that rarely uses it.

Custom toys don't really have a place for reviewing, I can talk about them but since you can't go and buy them, it's kinda fruitless. As for the swearing, it's an awareness of my audience, parents at cons thanking me for putting on a clean show their kids can watch. It's a toy, kids are always going to be watching, and I'd rather put on something everyone can see without the need for profanity.

Whenever it comes to articulation, I never look for things like "360". All I need is a regular (natural, as you said) range of motion that allows them to perform all of the movements that the average human body can perform. I don't need 360 rotating arms or full 360 swivels. That's just... why. When would I use that. That said, this guy wasn't meant for dynamic posing. He's a complete pass for a toy rendition of his TV show self. Good review though.

Because it's not a typo. At the time they couldn't register the name Scattershot, so they intentionally made the typo to get the trademark.

lol what kind of idiot puts a rotation below the knee, if it's not for transformation? It's just a waste of money. If you have to put a swivel, put it above the knee where it does something (especially if the figure doesn't have ball jointed hips).
