Dave, you should know that my wife ordered a Model 3 to replace her 5-year old Audi because of you. I was astonished because she was lukewarm on my Model S and we both thought it was smart to have one EV and one ICE car for emergency diversification. Well, after living through hurricane Helene in Western NC and Milton in Florida, we changed our minds. Power was out for days, so no gas stations were pumping. When power was restored, there were long lines at every gas station and people wanted to fill up which quickly emptied the stations’ tanks, so it took about 3 more days to get supply/demand back in balence. Meanwhile, I had zero problems keeping my Model S fueled. She looked at everything and decided on a Lexus hybrid. BUT it didn’t have roof rails for her Thule cargo box. I had just seen your video about installing roof rails, so I told her that Teslas could accommodate them, so off to the Tesla showroom where she ended up ordering a new Quicksilver Model 3. I was able to get the $7500 Federal credit via a lease, plus a referral credit and a military discount, so I saved about $10,000. Apparently it’s difficult to get the Quicksilver color so we still haven’t received it, but she’s now excited about getting her new Tesla.
