This is the first bike I owned at 16 in nz. I lost my nerve at 220kms p/h heading to reefton. I've owned a few bikes since and nothing has given me the feeling of the nsr.

I had an MC16 in NZ back in the late 80's. It was a rocket. I remember seeing about 215 on the speedo on the long sweeping road along side lake Karapiro. It was loads of fun and would pull the front up fairly easily with some clutch and a hand full of throttle in the lower gears. It would also lift the rear wheel under hard braking at low speed. Scared the crap out of me the first time I did it but then learned to control it for stoppies at the lights LOL!

Great video; I have one of these stripped in the shed. With limited parts available, and to be honest, know how, I was thinking of 'brutalising' the thing, turning it into a kind of cafe racer/'street-fighter'. I think you've just changed my mind.

HELP! Hello MC16 enthousiasts! Can anyone help me finding a centre crackshaft seal for a early MC16? The one Tyga offers for mc16/18 does not fit. I am in deperate need, have everything complete for the rebuild exept this seal. Who knows where to find one?? Thank you!
