Cyclotron
Cyclotron is a device used to accelerate charged particles to high energies. It was devised by Lawrence
Principle
Cyclotron works on the principle that a charged particle moving normal to a magnetic field experiences magnetic lorentz force due to which the particle moves in a circular path.
Working:
When a positive ion of charge q and mass m is emitted from the source, it is accelerated towards the Dee having a negative potential at that instant of time. Due to the normal magnetic field, the ion experiences magnetic lorentz force and moves in a circular path. By the time the ion arrives at the gap between the Dees, the polarity of the Dees gets reversed. Hence the particle is once again accelerated and moves into the other Dee with a greater velocity along a circle of greater radius. Thus the particle moves in a spiral path of increasing radius . The particle with high energy is now allowed to hit the target T.
this video is all about cyclotron working principle explain with cyclotron working animation also construction and working of cyclotron.
this video is all about working of charge accelerator cyclotron animation. A cyclotron is a machine used for bombarding a nucleus to investigate a nuclear structure
A cyclotron is a machine used to accelerate charged particles or ions to high energies. High velocity charged particle is used for bombarding a nucleus It was invented by E.O. Lawrence and M.s. Livingston in 1934, to investigate nuclear structure.

Sir,we know that E inside enclosed conductor is zero but here the D's are not fully enclosed so that electric field will enter inside the D's as you shown both D's are opened at side(at 1:40).Please reply I have given a time at 1:40 ,you can also see the structure of D which is not fully enclosed.
@Physicsandanimation
@Physicsandanimation 2 жыл бұрын
The dees are not fully enclosed, so the electric field can enter and exist inside the dees. But it will be controlled in comparison to gap between the dees . However, the electric field is carefully designed and controlled so that it is only present in the gap between the dees, where the charged particles are accelerated. The charged particles are also confined to a circular path by a magnetic field, which keeps them moving in a spiral path and prevents them from entering the dees. In this way, the electric field in the gap between the dees can accelerate the particles without affecting their motion within the dees, allowing the cyclotron to work effectively. . don't get confused, it's always tries make it less effective as possible so that it will not affect the motion of charge in the dees. We consider it zero. As if the electric field is not completely enclosed by the surface, it may be weaker inside the surface than it would be if the surface were open
