I wish that there would have been a decision that the player could make after the 2:03 scene. Basically three paths forward: 1. Side with Gray's and Jack still gets kidnapped but Sean survives since there isn't a shooting at Rhoads; 2. Side with Braithwaite's and Sean will die but Jack doesn't get kidnapped and Bronte is introduced in more friendly circumstances; 3. Play both sides (as is the story) and Sean will die and Jack gets kidnapped.
@CrazyTrainEnjoyer8 ай бұрын
I fuck with this idea ALOT, but RDR2's whole thing is that you can't really save anyone so Sean being the exception would be weird, but make a few more deaths avoidable and that's a great idea honestly
@siimtokke34618 ай бұрын
@@CrazyTrainEnjoyerI meant that Sean would survive past Rhoads, but during Shady Bell, he could be part of the distraction team with Hosea and Abigail and he dies there. I didn't mean that Sean would 100% survive the gang. But in general, I would want more player decisions. For example, after the whole fuck up in Rhoads there could be an option for Arthur to "start a stash" where the player can save money. This would be in the wain of "gang" savings but for Arthur which will turn into the money that John can dig up in the Epilogue. Also, after Dutch kills Bronte maybe there is an option for Arthur to "leave" (meaning he becomes less active in his gang role) the gang and this could lead to the possibility of why the Bank Heist went wrong. But in turn, this allows seeing how Sadie helped the gang to leave Shady Bell. Plus the whole Guarma chapter would be completely different.

@siimtokke34618 ай бұрын
@@channel45853I get what you are saying, but RDR 2 already has a slight disconnect between the story and gameplay. In the Beaver Hollow chapter, Dutch asks Cornwall for 10k, a boat, and a safe passage out while Arthur (who in my gameplays has 10k+ in his satchel) stands next to him. Dutch says "We need more money" while Arthur is rolling in money. You can look at videos on YT where people use cheats to give camp 10 mil or even more and Dutch still ask for more money. So adding more RPG elements wouldn't be too bad.

For me my favorite missions are Blood Feuds, A short walk in a pretty town, the Saint Denis bank heist, the valentine bank heist, and American Venom. And yes the pattern is all of these are very action oriented. But it’s just the way the action is presented that makes it so special. Blood feuds with the amazing score and cinematography. A short walk with the unexpected death of Sean and the fire fight that ensues. The Valentine bank build up with talking to everyone otw, getting to know them better before you get there and bust through the doors and the intensity goes from a 2 to 10. And depending how long you take with cracking the vaults if the law show up or not, or if you blow them up and want them to know and shoot your way out. The Saint Denis bank robbery with all the build up, everyone is there, just like with blood feuds, Hoseas death, Lenny’s death. It’s all so good. And American venom being the perfect end off with killing Micah and John fighting his way through multiple waves of his men just to get his revenge for Arthur. God this game is so good

I had just completed the Weapons Expert Challenge 5 challenge by aggro-ing five random people on horses (did it in the desolate Heartlands as to not get caught) and then weapons challenge 6 popped up. Kill four enemies using a single stick of dynamite. At this point it was nighttime in game so I thought "Aight, let's go back to camp at Clemens Point, go to bed, and then think about how we're gonna do this." Then on my way through Lemoyne I saw the KKK having a meeting. I thought, "Hmmmmm." Threw a stick of dynamite in there, killed way more than 4 people, completed the challenge, and got an honor boost. Paused the game, sat back in my recliner, and just laughed for a good minute.

Dont get me wrong, blood fueds is one of my favourite missions for similiar reasons you listed here, but I dunno, I'm a little taken aback by how the focus on how badass it all is. Yes, the Braithewaites aren't great people. They did kidnap Jack, but they absolutely didn't start it. Dutch dragging this woman into the dirt after destroying her house and killing her sons is really disturbing. It's clear they were holding Jack as bargaining chip. Hell, he was safer and better fed than his entire time on the run with the gang. I understand the high emotions at play, but I don't think you're supposed to finish this mission in awe of how cool it all is. The dark backdrop, the shaded silhouettes of the gang in the moonlight, the high, haunting crooked melody being sung... I was kind of sickened by how brutal it all is and this mission is supposed highlight that savage side of the gang, imo

I actually think the Grays and the Braithewaite hold more importance to the plot than most people would think. In my opinion it was the beginning of the end. Dutch came strolling high and mighty thinking he was scamming and manipulating them from the beginning. Insulting them when their back is turned and loudly stating he thinks they're trash. Dutch underestimated them just like he did with the Pinkertons and everyone else he views as less intelligent than him. That is how Bronte was able to play him like a fiddle because bronte was the exact opposite of the grays and Braithewaite, Dutch tried to get on his good side. Hosea on the other hand was a lot more cautious and suspicious of them yet he still tried his best to play them for information on their gold. I just find it ironic that in the End it was a dying Arthur who got the treasure to help 2 kids in love

Agreed. Beaver Hollow is Great in story but just, 😔. Horseshoe is Overrated, it's great but a tad bit boring at times, Saint Denis is a Nothing Burger, and Guarma is Guarma

Saint Denis was so underutilized and dumb imo, i wish it had more uses but since it didnt its the worst in my opinion,also saint denis is a classic but i can see why some people wouldn't like it

Hate walking with horses in Saint Denis moving slow and a bus runs into you now u have bounty and cops on you, if your walking on foot and u bump into a pedestrian your dead before u can run away

My favorite chapter has to be Beaver Hallow. The end of the story us always the best in my opinion. To see Arthur confron Dutch and Micah and the surprise return of John made it worth while and the final act of sacrifice always gets me. "Now go and be a G**D*** man!"

Horseshoe overlook for me, Arthur is in his prime, both physically and in terms of respect. As the story progresses his authority becomes questioned, by the rat, by Bill as soon in the dynamite mission, it was a subconscious jab at Arthur when he suggested he play dead. Arthur was in control of his destiny in chapter 2, he was the backbone of the gang. The thread that help everything together, it’s a wonder how they did anything without Arthur. I am very disappointed with how RDR 2 ended because fundamentally it is not believable, there’s no instance when a gang such as Dutch’s gang would accept a newcomer as a second in command.

Chapter 3 is the most iconic, I agree, but chapter 4 is the most decisive, and the bank robbery missioni is the most adrenalinic mission in the entire game: the tension is high and ask yourself how could we get to this and what will happen to the gang

If only you could take the deputy badge off it would be perfect
@MediaWML8 ай бұрын
You can. Make sure you have saved outfits on your horse before you start the mission where you get the badge (American Distillation mission). Immediately after the cutscene where you first get the badge, change the outfit from your horse, then after the next cutscene you get it again, mission is over. Change the outfit again so that the badge is removed , save your game, done. Once you know you have an outfit with no badge, use that outfit as a template to make new outfits as needed. It's been a while since I did it so I can't remember exactly, but it definitely works. Just remember to switch outfits after any cutscene if the badge is equipped/re-equipped. If you can't get it to work then let me know and I'll open up an old save and confirm the process. I just wish I could also avoid the whole "no weapons" in Rhodes.

Blood Fueds Ancient and Modern is one of my favorite missions. But Chapter 3 felt rather boring, I wasn't invested in the whole Gray vs. Braithwaite feud, Chapter 4 is where things felt like they were really picking up. I loved Chapter 2 though.

Nah disagree. The two last mission are great but there's a whole lot of boring before that. Burning the tobacco fields is slow and boring, serving moonshine at the bar is slow and boring, the fact the game prevents you from commiting crimes in Rhodes is slow and boring, chasing the guy on the train is slow and boring, stealing the moonshine in the swamp is slow and boring and it just goes on and on and on
