Much love from South Korea. Can Armchair Expert give me some advice? I want to be an openly gay artist in Hollywood, but I'm a native South Korean, and in my country, no LGBTQ+ actors come out. No one comes out in real life. They might come out to their best friends, and that it. There's only ONE openly gay entertainer in mainstream South Korean showbiz although Korean content has become global. He came out about "twenty years ago." No one since then. He was a huge actor, but after coming out, he's mostly done variety shows and KZbin. Falling in love with American showbiz as a teenager, I became proficient in English. This year, I placed in two American script contests that top Hollywood insiders join as mentors with a script I wrote in English, my second language. I wanna free my gayness I've suppressed my whole life, playing and writing about androgynous gay characters. There's no place for the kind of artist that I am in Korea, but Americans in Korea tell me they think I'm gonna be a hit in Hollywood.

Thank you for all the in-depth questions. I have watched every single interview during this Wicked marketing press and I learned so much more about Cynthia, beyond the superficial level. I have seen the movie twice and plan to watch it again. It truly is that good. BTW, I have seen the musical production twice, but I couldn't remember much. The movie is leaving a lasting emotional impression!

The fact that Dax’s intro sounds IDENTICAL every single time , whether he says the words in real time or pre-recorded 🤯❤️

I saw Wicked yesterday. I haven’t seen the musical. I am so lucky to love Wicked now because of Cynthia and Ariana. I cried so much. I am watching it again today. I think I will be a Wicked fan for good because of Cynthia and Ariana.

This interview was great. You both chatted like three good friends. Your questions were tongue-in-cheek, and my eyeballs popped out most of the time, lol. Cynthia seems friendly and accommodating. I appreciate her. Her talent, intellect, kindness, and charisma🎉. I was also happy when she mentioned Yorkshire 😊

it would be nice if they both watched a Cicely Tyson film, like Sounder (Oscar nominated) or The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman (she won the Emmy, she has three Emmy's) or listened to her rather recent audiobook memoir, Just As I Am. I saw her on Broadway when she was 88 in her Tony Award winning performance in Trip To Bountiful and then again when she was 91 in The Gin Game with James Earl Jones. She is well respected.

I am a trained facilitator specializing in women’s transformational work. Touching someone when they are crying actually interrupts their release and their process. The need to do it is more about the other person’s discomfort than comforting the crying person. And no words are needed either. ASK the person what they need after they feel their release of tears is complete. Monica, no need to be touchy.

I feel very abandoned if I break down and get no physical support. I have had someone do that to me and it made me feel even worse than I was.
@mavenandsage2 ай бұрын
@@jakestroll6518 I can understand that especially in a 1:1 situation with someone you know well, I have experienced that myself. In a group of strangers it's often a little different. That is why I said to ask the person what they need. We are all different, and often we don't get asked or respect peoples' autonomy. And we are not taught how to ask for what we need particularly women. So in group I advise people to let people have their process and to ask for what is needed. That in and of itself is part of the work. I create very safe and sacred space, no one feels abandoned because they are often already so held that is why they feel comfortable enough to share something that may bring about tears.
@jujubees7112 ай бұрын
@jakestroll6518 I feel the same. When I reach out to someone when they are crying, it's not about my discomfort, it's to bring them comfort
@mavenandsage2 ай бұрын
@@jujubees711 right but not everyone wants that. I rarely want to be touched when I am already feeling vulnerable. It’s important to ask “how may I be of comfort to you” and let them choose. It gives a person sovereignty and autonomy over their experience.
@RosannasfriendАй бұрын
I think that simply touching them does interrupt the process, but hugging them encourages them to actually double down on the crying. So it’s weird. Maybe it’s a good idea to say “do you need me to hug you?” See what happens then.

What’s the point of a video introduction and no video with the guest ?
@kelleydrn39652 ай бұрын
The expert interview on Wednesdays are video. The good thing about running the non video interviews here on KZbin is you CAN watch the intro and fact check... BUT ALSO you don't have several 2 minute commercial breaks throughout. You might get 2 or 3 15 sec and skip ads.

What a weird question. It obviously so the guest doesn’t have to worry about how they look on camera with lighting, wardrobe and glam.

Dax, saying this with love and a friendly tone. Huge fan of the pod. But you can't compare Martha Stewart to the Kardashians. It's apples and oranges. Yes, people disliked Martha because of her perfectionism. They felt that they couldn't compare. It made them feel inadequate. I didn't feel that way. I loved Martha's magazines and shows. And that she made luxury affordable. The Kardashians on the other hand. People didn't like them because all the flashy money and plastic surgery seems shallow. People weren't jealous of them because they were successful women, but questioned more why they were successful? Much like 48% of voting America wonder why Trump is president?

This is really hard because I’ve been a fan since day one and never missed an episode of armchair, experts or anonymous, race and Monica and Jess’s show. As a person with misophonia, extreme misophonia, it’s so upsetting to see something in Dax’s mouth. I’m upset that I’m upset but I can’t watch. I’ve had to gain the confidence to ask students (ballroom dance teacher) to throw their gum out at the door, you can’t walk and chew gum what makes you think you can dance and chew gum, as a joke cuz my misophonia is so bad. Dax, please, I love you so much, please don’t keep that Nicolette or Zin or whatever it is in your mouth when you’re interviewing people, especially on camera! What if your guests also find it appalling, nauseating? I don’t want to see or hear food in your mouth! And I feel the same about the loud cars and motorcycles, they scare the hell out of me and make me angry. But I can’t do anything about that. Pretty pretty please, stop with the Zina or hide them better. It’s gross. I promise I’m not the AH. It’s taken me weeks to get up the courage to post.
